This is a great add for all levels of photography. If there is a drawback, it is that the lens is heavy. There is a lot of glass in this work horse. Muscle through it and you will be rewarded handsomely.

I love this lens! I've been a wedding photographer for 2+ years now, and have been renting this lens from a local photo rental place but finally was able to purchase it myself. It's a staple for my business!! I love that the f-stop allows for a low aperture and blurred backgrounds, but I can be "closer" to subjects with a 70mm zoom without being in their personal space. It's go-to lens for wedding ceremonies & receptions! 10/10 recommend.

It’s been great! It’s crazy what a change in glass can do for photo quality.

I had the previous version of this lens and I really liked that one. This version is even sharper and built really well. I just wish the lens barrel was covered by the lens shade when zooming like the previous generation. It seems it would protect the lens a little better.

I have the 70-200 2.8 lens and wanted the same professional quality with a shorter lens length. Am getting into more portrait photography and have taken some senior pictures for friends and my own children. I love the lens so far for the quality of pictures I am getting.

The lens fit perfectly in my hand while it was mounted to the camera. The lens took excellent quality pictures. While it does not have image stabilization, I saw very little issue with it in the situations I used it. This is a great lens for short to medium range photos.

This lens is a great upgrade from the kit 24-105L lens that you can get with the 6D or Mark IV. The glass is superior and the ability to lock the focal length is awesome for video. It doesn't have the 105mm zoom, but 70mm is usually good enough for our wedding photos and videos.

I saved and saved for a long time to purchase this lens, a lot of my photographer friends told me about this lens and I finally got. First feel, the lens is very sturdy, heavy (in a good way), and extremely crisp. You definitely feel the quality and is perfect for any moment.

I've bought this lens as a substitute for my 24-105 f/4. Extra f stops really worth the price when shooting indoor events. I've used this lens on my 6D and 60D as well and no issues until now.

I have been blown away with this lens! I specifically used it in the theater to photograph my daughter on stage. This lens has improved my low light shots to a very gratifying quality that I didn't know was possible without a flash. Superior quality PAIRED W/ my Canon Mark IV. I love it!

This is a one of a kind lens that every photographer needs in their arsenal. Low light quality like so very few. Expensive? Yes... but well worth every penny. Durable... smooth... not heavy... and the pictures speak for themselves. If you can ever get this lens... you will NOT be disappointed!

Best lens purchase thus far! I’ve used this lens for 4+ years and I’ve finally pulled the trigger to make it my own. I use it for portraits, weddings, wide sport photos, etc! It’s my ride or die.

While the 2.0 version of this lens incorporates more plastic than its "mostly metal" predecessor, it's still a hefty lens, the picture quality is fantastic and bokeh is dreamy in closeup and portrait work. Really dings the wallet, but you get what you pay for...

Like the 16-35mm or 70mm to 200mm, the 24mm-70mm f/2.8 is the standard zoom to complete your set of zooms with great picture quality. You'll have this zoom for years to come as camera bodies upgrade. Don't settle for a cheaper knockoff, spend the extra money, and be amazed by your purchase.
