Had been using the 85mm for some time and wanted to get a new prime lens. Went with the 50mm and love it. Excellent quality for outdoors.

This has been my favorite lens for years. Once I upgraded from the 50MM 1.8 there was no turning back! Creamy bokeh, sharp tack images and just beautiful results!

I bought this because I needed a low light lens for when the bundle lens (with zoom) didn't let in enough light. This one does the job. For the price, I can live with good low light performance and no zoom.

It is a great lens and the price of it allows me to throw it in my bag and carry it along without worrying about breaking something very expensive.

The lens works really good -- I wanted to just have a standard 50MM lens. It would be nice if Canon made the image stabilized version of this.

Although I'm still trying to get the hang of the different lenses, I like this lens because it does what it's supposed to do. Let's in a lot of light and provides that blur in the background as it conentrates (focuses) on main object. Great for portrait use.
