I mainly shoot with a 50mm, but my last one's motor ran out and it would cost more to fix it than its worth, so I ended up buying this lens! It has great quality and exactly what I hoped it would be. I still use my old 50mm when doing macro ring shots at weddings, since I can still use it manually, but I'm happy with my purchase!

This is a wonderful prime lense option. It shoots very well in low light due to the aperture of f1.4. One word of caution for shooting video- the focus motor is very loud, so shooting video with a mic close to the camera is impossible. Also the focus motor is slower than other Canon lenses that I use.

It is a good lens for the price.. I paid 10 times more for a sony lens 85mm f1.4.. so it does a good job, no complaints here.. The image is crisp, and it may be good to photograph objects rather than portraits, as you can only fit the head unless you leave more space between you and the subject.. it is good for the price.

Very good lens for the money. Sharp images, lightweight. Does exactly what I wanted it to do.

I love the fact that this camera lets in a lot of light, it is sharp if you can find the sweet spot, the images are beautiful and colorful, snap away!

I love shooting with 50mm & this lense is a perfect low cost lense that gets the job done when you know what you want to capture but also good for newbies.

This is my 2nd lens, I wore my other one out. But the Bokeh on this is awesome. I shot a whole wedding just using this. Fast, sharp, and not as expensive as the L lens.

This Lense is a must have for any serious photographer. Let's you get great portrait shots with the perfect blurred background. I will be using this one a lot!

1.4 gets you a nice crisp image and the background has nice separation, between this and the 1.8 50 can't go wrong either way
