Customers are saying
Customers love the EF50mm F1.4 USM Standard Lens for its exceptional image quality and beautiful bokeh. Many appreciate its strong low-light performance and ease of use, finding it well-suited for portraits and offering good value for the price. A minor drawback mentioned by some users is the audible noise during autofocus.

A must have lens !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon has always made a great 50mm f1.4 lens and this one should be the first non-zoom lens everyone needs to have.

Starter lense
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the lense. This lense is great for beginners. photos may not come out completely focused especially with full body photos. Using this lense with group photos is a no-no. I find it hard to focus on everyone's face overall the lens is best for portraits

Canon vs Others
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Canon lenses, not always the price. I have many lenses and this was a simple add to the bag and I went with Canon. I have found that Sigma offers comparable if not superior lenses for a bit less. This one has its place, and is very well built. The price at Best Buy was good on it and I had damaged my other Canon 50. The f1.4 was a bit better than what it replaced and the image quality was very good.

Great general purpose go to lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 50mm f1.4 should be in the bag of anyone that is serious about the photographs they take. It has a portrait capability that you would expect to find on a more expensive lens. It has become my general purpose go to lens The only negative is that there is slight distortion when you are shooting at f1.4,but this can be compensated for in post processing.

Portrait Photographer
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as sharp as I feel it should be. I have a love hate relationship with it because it is sometimes soft. Its really no better than my 50mm1.8 but the build quality is better.

Great lens but maybe not for the money
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great lens but I don’t feel it’s that much of an upgrade over the f1.8. It focuses fast and accurately when paired with my eos rp.
