Customers are saying

Customers love the EF50mm F1.4 USM Standard Lens for its exceptional image quality and beautiful bokeh. Many appreciate its strong low-light performance and ease of use, finding it well-suited for portraits and offering good value for the price. A minor drawback mentioned by some users is the audible noise during autofocus.

I bought this for my wife. It is the only lens she likes to shot with now. Also, she now uses it with the adapter for the RP and loves it even more.

It is a step above the 1.8. The build quality, an actual focus ring, and almost a full stop of light extra set this lens above the 1.8. I do mainly video and recommend this lens over the L series 1.2. As far ad video goes, there is no difference between the two other than prestige.

I had read a lot of reviews for this lens before purchase and was happy that I could agree with them. Great little lens for basic every day shots that you want more polished. Still able to get some moving shots with it as well!

Having only used this a few times since purchase I will be brief. It's a 50 f/1.4 with an amazing depth of field. I'm definitely going to need to grow into this as I'm just a hobbyist.

I use this lens to shoot my wife's fashion outfits for her online magazine. This lens has excellent photo quality, control, and ease of use. It is a superior performer compared to the Canon 50 mm 1.8 lens. I would heartily recommend this lens for intermediate-level photographers.

Thought about it several times before purchasing this one compared to its more budget friendly counterpart but seems like the make and build is a lot better and worth the difference. Pictures are nice and clear.

I bought this lens because I wanted a dedicated lens for product photography. Arguably one of the best lenses I've used for those types of photos and a must-have for Canon owners.

I already owned this lens and purchased a second one for my wife's bag. That speaks to my satisfaction with lens. It's a fast lens that performs well without sticker shock. Quick autofocus or easy to maneuver manual focus for nice crisp photos.

Love the photos that I take with this lens!!! Recently went on a trip to Europe and only brought this lens with me- the photos are amazing!!! Definitely the normal cons of a fixed lens... but probably my favorite lens of all time!!!

It has a the ability to actually focus on what you want with a focus ring. It is quite small in size and performs well on a lot of cameras (50D and the 7D). I will definitely recommend getting insurance on this lens because everywhere I look online there has been a focusing problems with these type of prime lens. So I love my lens for portraits and stills. Outdoor is great but you need to be very strategic about you shot set up since it is a narrow field of vet.

Canon EF lenses work extremely well and provide excellent photos. They are very durable and are easy to mount and remove from the camera body.

This is a great choice to supplement the typical all-purpose zoom telephoto that is preferred by "one-lens" shooters. The shallow DOF and sharpness at f stops below 2 allows much better portraits and closups.
