Great Lens for the Portrait Shoot. crispy clear pics. It will not replace 18 55 mm lens for its easy to use. Easy to focus and very light weighted. Easy to carry;

I picked this up because I have read so many good reviews about this lens and because the price point is very affordable. This now might be my favorite lens to shoot with because it is so versatile. It's smaller form factor allows you to take it anywhere and the quality matches those of more expensive lenses. This also does well in both low lit and bright areas. The auto focus I thought was pretty quite and fast and the overall construction is excellent.
No reason why this shouldn't be in your arsenal.

I bought this lens to use as an indoor/small general lens. The kit lens is massive, and it is nice to make the camera smaller when not needing the 24-105 wide angle or zoom. The lens itself functions well. It focuses slower than the kit, but no real issue with that. Nice and light and crisp photos. Can't go wrong at this price.

It is the best choice in my life in electronics. Images are super clear. It focuses distance is very narrow and could blur the background very well. It is also perfect for head shots. Regarding the price, I can say it is a professional lens for a beginner price! If you are a beginner and you want to start imaging with a professional lens, this one is the best one to start.

You can’t go wrong with the nifty 50. Great lens for the price. Great colors, nice and sharp. If you’re starting out and looking for a nice lens that isn’t super expensive, this is your lens. 50mm is a good focal length, too. One thing that takes a little getting used to is the focus-by-wire when you’re using manual focus, but after a little while it’s no big deal. Cheap way to upgrade the quality of your photos!

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens is a popular choice for both beginner and intermediate photographers due to its affordability and excellent image quality. Its wide aperture of f/1.8 allows for beautiful background blur (bokeh) and low-light performance, making it versatile for portrait, street, and low-light photography. The STM (Stepping Motor) technology ensures smooth and quiet autofocus, ideal for both photo and video shooting. While its build quality may not be as robust as more expensive lenses, its compact size and impressive optical performance make it a favorite among photographers on a budget.

They call this lens the nifty50 and yes it is! I was using an 18 -135 before and it was great. However, it was lengthy and cumbersome. I bought this lens for the depth of field but didn't realize I would end up using it as my primary lens. Its great for on the go carry and with it installed I can toss my Canon 80D in the glove box with ease. Photos are amazing, its pretty inexpensive and as the other reviews say, should be apart of your collection. I'm a pretty cheap person, and I'd have to say its worth it.

A great, well built prime lens at an excellent price. Perfect for beginners and a must have for all photographers to have in their bag. Get some great shots. Seems pretty quiet and has a surprisingly fast focusing speed. Quality over price can’t be beat with this purchase.
Highly... highly recommend.

They weren't joking that this is sort of a necessary lens to have in your compliment. My granddaughter requested I take her high school graduation photos based on her prom photos that I took for her. I wasn't satisfied with my current lens for the portrait and was looking for a good lens that was also fast enough. This lens is perfect and an economical solution!.

I'm a professional photographer and I can highly recommend this lens no matter what your skill level. It's not going to perform as well as the 1.2, but for the cost difference the results have definite value. The lens is much lighter and easier to carry around than the 1.2. The new STM motor is a bit faster and quieter than previous models.
