    Having just purchased the 40mm pancake lens and this one at the same time, I can say without a doubt that both are a must have. This 50mm lens has better bokeh to produce artistic shots, and sharp focus. The draw back is the autofocus system goes a bit crazy sometimes in close portraits.

    This lens is one of the cheapest but it does a great job blurring the background. You have to watch its F-stop number though because if you put it too low it only focuses on the first thing it sees and that might not be a face
