I totally love this lense. Im a beginner on taking pro pics and im loving how these pictures come out. And for the price... Well worth it!

This is a great lens for a perfect budget. It is fast at f/1.8 and can produce nice bokeh photos. Great quality and price for a Canon f/1.8!

Perfect for the canon t3i camera. Amazing depth of field. And the auto focus is not that loud.

No one doesn’t like a 50 mm lens, it gives you the depth you want, crisp and focused images.

I bought this as an extra lens to go with my new camera. I'm so glad I spent the extra money for it because it produces the type of pictures I wanted to capture of our new baby. It automatically zooms in when the lens is attached so you have to be further away from the object you're taking the picture of, but that's usually not a problem. Also, it takes a while to adjust to the focus settings. It will focus on whatever is closest instead of a face, but I'm sure after playing around a little more I will have greater control over it.

Great all purpose, easy to use lens....especially if you like that 'blurred-background' look to your pictures. Great for portraits.

I've shot professional photography for about a year now. When I needed a backup lens (but didn't want to spend the money), I went ahead a picked this up. At first, I was going to write a review on this lens. To my surprise, the lens provided sharp images...but it was slow to focus and extremely loud!!!

Sharp photos, great focus and decent lighting this makes a perfect lens to blur your background and get a vibrant photo.

This new version of the 50mm standard lens hits most of the sweet spots with its compact design, improved build quality, excellent image quality, improved auto focus, and great bokeh. It does am amazing job at capturing bright images in low light locations. You may see some darkening of the corners at full frame such as when using 5D Mark III but equalize by F2.8. But optimal sharpness is at F5.6. Canon got it right with this release. It's great for portraits, indoor sports, travel, street photography, and stage.

This is a great lens for street photography and portraits and indoors. I bought this to take it to Europe and got some very nice shots! The images are very crisp and sharp. The colors pop up very well too. Great lens for this price

I still use my Canon T3i (EOS 600D) and wanted to do some portaits for a friends prom. This lens (while not a prime lens) works fantastic. Price to quality of this lens can't be beat. Highly recommended for someone on a budget.

This lens provides a great shallow depth of field for those shots that requre background blur, at a great price!

This is a great lens. I use it for both photography and video. On a full frame camera like the 6D, the f/1.8 aperture gives you a very nice blurry background. Crop frame sensors look great too. With a cine camera, it is a must have in your arsenal for video on a budget. The STM is smooth and very silent. Great with the DPAF and even on the old Rebel T4i, the AF is smooth and quite. Get this lens!
