Great lens! Instead of hiring a photographer for a pregnancy announcement in which we’d only need a few solid photos, I just bought this and was able to do it on my own. Now I got a lens to catch baby portraits on my own for years to come!

New to photography and this lens is amazing!! I've taken, in my opinion, some pretty darn good pics with this lens! If you don't have one and are on the fence about it, do it, you wont regret it.

I love this lens. It has to be one of the most economical and yet high quality lenses I've had. Although I believe its a hard plastic casing i say that its high quality due to the intense sharpness this lens gives and the crazy amount of Bokeh it provides; which is a photographers playground. Awesome for portraits! I believe i got it for $110 which basically was a huge giveaway.

To be quite honest I haven't been using this or my new camera because of lack of time. However, the small amount I've used it-it has done the job. You won't be able to zoom in etc., but it will take those nice up close photos and give you some blur. You just won't be able to manipulate it very much. I had a NIKON D80 for a very long time with this type of lens and my camera was stolen. This is equivalent to it. I'm not a camera expert, but I would recommend this lens.

This lens is wonderful! I love it because it doesn't add bulk to the camera but it also takes great photos. I have nothing negative to say about it. Don't regret purchasing. If you have more money and want to get a "better" one go for it but at this price point you can't beat the value I watched aTON of YouTube videos before purchasing and they all agreed this is a winner

This is a great lens, I use this lens on my 80D as well as my RP with great results. I use it for portraits as well as for landscape photos and get amazing results. The bokeh this lens produces is great and for the price its a must have in any camera bag.

I purchased this lens not to long ago and I love how it works! It takes great photos / portraits of the subject your shooting while blurring out the background. This makes the photo of the subject your shooting stand out. I'm not a professional (by far!) but thanks to this lens the photos I take, looks as if they were professionally done.

A nice compact fixed lens 50mm that has been "The Standard" for many years, I recently picked up a UV filter and a tulip lens hood to protect the lens, and I'll tell you this little baby looks great on the camera. I highly recommend this lens, and for the price paid you can't go wrong and also.. Best Buy had it in stock.

Excellent lens. Great price. Not quite as much bokeh as with the 50mm f/1.4 lens, but the pictures still look great. It is also extremely light.

Simple, high quality images, easy to use, great value

Sooo good for headshots. Expect to be angled in awkward positions to get the right distance at times as you can't control the zoom and it gets pretty close up - that's just how 50mm's are. But it's worth, my photos look so professional.

I have read lots of reviews before buying this product. This is the latest version of nifty-fifty from canon. The build, stability and quality is awesome. Especially it has 7 shutter when compared to 5 in earlier version and additional it is STM and great for Video as well (If camera supports). The noise is really really low. Bokeh affect at f1/8 - f2 is awesome. Great sense for portraits

This lens is great bang for your buck. It is a great starter lens and will take awesome pictures. The build quality is decent but mostly plastic. I thought the focusing would be quieter but it is kind of noisy. However there is not much bad to say about this lens. If you want a cheap prime lens to start out with and maybe use for portraits or low light photography it is an awesome lens.
