This is by far the best camera lense for the price! This works on a crop sensor and also a full frame. So if you’re just starting out on a crop sensor and plan on upgrading in the future this will still work! It does everything it’s supposed and I love how close you can get to your subject without distortion of image .

New to photography and this lens is amazing!! I've taken, in my opinion, some pretty darn good pics with this lens! If you don't have one and are on the fence about it, do it, you wont regret it.

Great lens! This is my first 50 mm lens and I absolutely love it! It takes beautiful pictures! I love the quality of Canon lenses overall. They really beef up my 850D.

This lens is know by photographers of all levels as one of the best must have lenses for your camera. For good reason. Not only is it super affordable It performs as well if not better than some of the high end lenses for sale. It even dons its own nickname the nifty 50.

To be quite honest I haven't been using this or my new camera because of lack of time. However, the small amount I've used it-it has done the job. You won't be able to zoom in etc., but it will take those nice up close photos and give you some blur. You just won't be able to manipulate it very much. I had a NIKON D80 for a very long time with this type of lens and my camera was stolen. This is equivalent to it. I'm not a camera expert, but I would recommend this lens.

This is one of the must have lenses. Picture quality is sharp and it produces great Bokeh. I mostly use it for Portrait and it never disappoints me. For best results use focal length 2.8mm and Higher. Images are soft at 1.8mm and you may have focus issues. I use software DPP 4.0 from canon to correct the lens anomalies if any and it does a great job.

I bought this lens for my daughter, a sophomore in high school, she is very interested in photography. She is trying her best to take pictures of the milky way. She has been getting some great results - the only difficulty with this lens or any lens for that matter, is getting the focus down when it's pitch black and trying to get a sharp picture of the stars.

Great 50mm lens. Use this lens more than my 24mm. Great for interviews with a shallow depth of field. Used with my BMPCC 6K and have no issues with it.

I read several articles that talked about this is by far the best 1st lens purchase to make after you get your DSLR - and they are SO right. I went a couple weeks with just the Kit Lens, and once I got to see the quality of this one, I was blown away! Not good for close quarters, but if you have a little space, be prepared for AMAZING pictures!

I liked starting with the prime lens since it pushes me to be more creative with the framing.
