You get what you pay for, cheap plastic body, slow and a bit load when hunting around, but can also get awesome quality images.

We bought this for portrait mode. We don’t use it as much as I thought we would. The other lens have zoom and this doesn’t. I would still buy it.

This is a great lens. I purchased this for a nephew (I have the 1.4) who is new to photography. The 1.8 prime is a great lens and I would recommend this to anyone.

This 50mm f/1.8 lens *without Image Stabilization* is a great performer and anyone using it would benefit from a tripod if using longer exposure times. Highly recommended.

Haven't tried this out enough yet to be sure if it's ultimate value to me but it looks good so far. So many new things to try.

This is an upgrade from Canon's other buget prime lens. It has a metal base instead of a plastic one and a stepping moter that is great if you shoot video.

I am happily surprised with this lens, Performance was really good, Price is perfect for a f1.8 50mm sure is not an L but it really does a great job!!

If you are wanting to step up your photography skills this should be the first lens you buy after the kit lens. Easy to use and fast focus when on AF.

I like the lens, the focus ring takes more to adjust focus unlike the previous version but feels a lot better than the previous version. Definitely worth he buy.

The lens does what I wanted it for. For most users this beats spending three times as much from other makers.

Great lens for up close photos and clear quality. Used it for beaches color was beautiful up close.
