I was looking for something like this and ow I really enjoy using this lens with my camera.

This lens is very impressive when you consider its quality for being only just over $100. If you have a DSLR and your looking to expand your lens collection this is a great place to start. I'm content with the sharpness even at f1.8 but if you stop it down to f2-f2.8 you can get some very good results. Being a STM lens it is also considerably quieter its predecessor. Occasionally you do get a little noise when focusing but nothing that will distract you or your subject. Build quality is nice but still feels pretty cheap. You can't expect too much when after all this is the cheapest lens canon sells. If you have a spare $100 and want to take your photography to the next level with a great prime lens, this is where you need to start.

Got this lens with our new camera set up works great.

I shoot videos with a Canon dslr and this lens works great in lower light situations.

I'm still getting used to this lens. I think it's great and great from training your eye and composition but is still not my "go to lens" like many said it would be. It is completely worth the price and the quality is excellent, like all of my canon products.

For the price, this lens really can't be beaten. Great portrait lens with excellent picture quality. Feels well made. Only complaint is that the focusing motor is a little too loud (compared to other Canon lenses).
