This lens is great for portrait pictures and maybe landscape. It is not a zoom lens so you got to move around a lot to get your shot. Overall, its good to have around

This lens is great for shots in lower light, allowing for better depth of field as well. The only drawback is the noise and speed of focusing.

The lens is nice and takes good pictures however it needs calibration and return window is over. So I am keeping it.

I bought this camera for my daughters birthday party. The construction is solid and it is one of my favorite lenses. By no means am I a professional photographer, but that being said this lens rocks. For $125 dollars it takes beautiful photos but it's a little slow to autofocus. Worth every penny.

Bought this as a gift for my wife who is just getting into photography. This lens softens and/or blurs the background around the focused object. Works great

It's a nifty fifty lens. It took me way too long to buy one, and I wasn't disappointed. It doesn't feel cheap and it takes decent pictures for the price you pay.

After using an off-brand 50mm, 1.8 then splurging on Canon glass, I'll never go back. Canon glass is on a totally different level and SO worth the extra pennies spent to know I have the best quality glass on my camera.

This lens is more than enough for low light situations. It takes time getting used to the focus however its more than enough for the average single person photo
