    Best lens that Canon makes. A must for any kit. Covers most focal ranges and autofocus is spot on. Previous versions are great just not as fast focusing.

    Like most L lenses, this glass doesn't come cheap. But version III is worth the upgrade. Ignore what others say about it only being a color change, the lens does have some pretty nice upgrades - air sphere coating (ASC) to reduce flare and ghosting and fluorine coating to make it easier to clean.

    If you like to take great photos you cannot live without this lens in your kit. It is one of the top three must have lenses.
