Solid mid tier Canon camera, with a little reading learning you can take really good pictures, the auto mode is great, but the real strength is in the configurability allowed by this type of camera. Note the photo added was take with a telephoto lens (not the included one)

For the price you can’t beat this. It’s got a fast burst rate of 6.5fps, lighter compared to the other dslr, and has a vari angle display that comes in handy. It’s comparable to the 6d Mark II in terms of specs but more affordable

    Best All-Around Camera...Period

There has been much said on this camera and on this series. I will add my brief thoughts: To begin with this camera is sharp. Don't believe all of the critics out there. It is not as CRISP as some cameras but it is quite sharp. Lenses make a lot of differences, so whatever you do, do not skimp on your lens. If you don't this camera will take advantage of what you attach to it and deliver fantastic results. My first outing was in Colorado on a nature hike/shoot. I was shooting with the standard lens that came with this bundle (24-135mm USM) and I found it to be more than capable of capturing exactly what I wanted in a walkabout lens. It was clean and easy to use. For the first few days I kept it in automatic and got fantastic picture and video results. Within a few days I was ready to go manual and again this camera did not disappoint. I did a little research online and found some great videos and suggestions on setup which made it quick and easy for me to get along with manual mode even though I am merely an enthusiast. Again the pictures turned out great and sharp. My next step was to take pictures at a wedding. Again I am no pro, but my results made me feel confident in my abilities and I credit great advice online and a great camera with the 80D. Even though the reception was much lower light, and I loathed the idea of using the built in flash, I got some great results. My latest venture was to shoot the super moon and again with some great advice, and this fantastic camera, I got results that I could never get from a point and shoot or a phone. For professionals, you already know what you want and will buy it. For enthusiasts or even beginners this can be a great step in the direction of professional photography. I opted this over the Sony A6300, even though the video is not 4K. The video performance is fantastic for my usage and I am planning on making a Sony purchase (the A6500) in the next month. But this camera is really spot on for daily usage all around. I had to lower the resolution of the attached photos to be able to upload them.

I had originally considered the Canon 70D, which is a wonderful camera in its own right, but when the Canon 80D was announced I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and to start taking amazing photos and videos. It finally arrived last week and my expectations were easily exceeded with this awesome camera. It has many of the features found in the more pro-level cameras and some new ones too. The newly designed 18-135mm lens is a dream come true for this type of camera and, so far, the pictures are clear, sharp and full of vibrant color. As an upgrade to an older model or as a first D-SLR you wouldn't be disappointed if you purchased the Canon EOS 80D. The image of our weeping cherry tree was taken on a cloudy day, but is still very clear when you zoom in for a close up, even though it was resized to 1/5th the original size.

I wanted to upgrade from my Canon T3i, which was great to teach me composition and forced me to understand manual focus but had no auto focus during video and the image quality just wasn’t up to modern standards anymore. I looked into the Panasonic’s, Sony’s and even all the new mirrorless cameras. For me I really like the size of a DSLR, unfortunately I don’t have the budget to go full frame but the image quality on the 80D is incredible. When speaking AF no one does it better than Canon the 45 AF points make it so I can just touch the screen what I want in focus and it tracks the object/person with no problem. Stepping up and getting the upgraded nanoUSM 18-135mm lens in the kit was well worth every penny. Great clarity and when using the tracking AF you can’t hear the lens parts moving if you’re not specifically paying attention to it. All in all I think if anyone is looking to upgrade from an entry level/outdated DSLR the Canon 80D just works. Little to no color correction needed for video. I am in love.

This is an upgrade from a T3i and a great upgrade it is. Much heavier than the Rebel but much easier to use. Wasn't sure I would like the touch screen but I really like it as it does make some settings much quicker. The kit lens 18-135mm is a great lens, fast focus and silent. This is a great DSLR combo!

    Satisfied but no 4K video

I've been wanting to get a DSLR camera for quite sometime but didn't know what to get and not to spend so much money. While the Canon 80D is not a Full Frame camera, it suites the need for someone like me who have not used a DSLR camera before and have been away from photography for a very long time. Although I bought it on sale, it's still expensive. However, I like the advanced features compared to the Rebels for beginnners. I didn't want to pay less for a beginner camera kit then only later have a desire for a more advanced camera while not jumping into professional classifications. This camere is in between for a hobbyist like me. The pictures I took look amazing. I can transfer the photos through wifi into my Mac or iPhone. The camera came with a 18-135mm F3.5 IS USM lens which is good enough. The kilt also offered a 70-250mm F4 IS STM telephoto zoom lens. I am returning this one because I feel it lacks closer close-ups while in the maximum leghts photos, they're a bit grainy. It can shoot a Full HD video, which I haven't tried yet. With a camera like this and the money spent, I wished it came with the 4K video because the technology is already there. Over all, I'm still satisfied with the camera and can easily spend more money for additional and better lenses, filters, hoods, external flash, remote switches, extra memories, extra batteries, camera bag, photo editing software, etc.

The 80D is the second DSLR camera I've owned (I bought my T5i second-hand). I'm still fairly new to photography, but wanted to step up to the "enthusiast" level of camera. The 80D takes amazing pictures, and I love all of the "bells and whistles" it offers. It's great being able to download pics to my computer wirelessly. I can't wait to play with the other wireless features (controlling the camera from my iPad or phone). The controls are fairly intuitive, with great guides/descriptions for a newbie like me. The 18-135mm lens that came with the camera is a much better and more versatile lens than the standard 18-55mm lens that came with my T5i. The camera fits nicely in my hands, the controls are easy to reach, and it isn't overly heavy. i expect to have this camera for a long time, and will suit me very well as I get more experience behind the lens.
