awesome camera!! more than I expected for my first mirrorless camera

Added the R5 to my camera bag and instantly improved my landscape and wildlife photography. Animal eye detection is fast, even at f/22! (an EF 100-400 II + 2x teleconverter III). Controls are similar but better than the EOS R. You can learn a lot more detail from other professional photography reviews... but from this amateur's perspective, it is well worth the investment!

Excellent autofocus. Rf lenses are incredible and fast focus.

Time to switch from DSLR to Mirrorless and this is the one I got for my future project. Probably, one of my best purchases so far. Worth the money.

Great camera, upgraded from a 5D mkIII and couldn't be happier, I love the evf and will only keep the old 5D as a backup.

This camera is Canon’s newest mirror less at least until the R3 is released. If you only have EF lenses you must buy an adapter. Am waiting to receive since they were on back order. You will also need a CFExpress card which is different from the CF cards from prior cameras. This also means a card reader for the CFExpress card. So making the change is more than just the camera. I borrowed a R6 recently and was impressed with the clear focusing on moving animals.

I am glad I upgraded to mirrorless. My EF lenses are working well with the adapter but I look forward to upgrading to RF lenses. AF is great. I wanted the silent electronic shutter for wildlife and expect that to improve my access to the birds.
