Awesome DSLR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first DSLR and I bought it with intentions of taking pictures and video and it has been awesome. It's easy to use and a great DSLR for people who want to get used to manual photography. The variety of shooting modes are great, but I was able to switch over to manual shooting within a day. Photo quality is excellent even when you zoom in while viewing your photos. The touch screen is amazing and so helpful when it comes to taking photos at an awkward angle. Best thing is probably the battery; a full charge lasts for a week of very, very casual photography. I've had the camera for about two months now and I haven't run into any major problems. This lens is also great because it has auto and manual focus. I also bought a 70-300mm lens which is also great.

It doesn't work properly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used it for pictures and it was fine. Very clear and flawless quality pictures. Although when I started using it to film, it started turning off suddenly in the middle of Filming a video. I would have to turn it on again every time it goes off.

Dust all over the pictures at F-36/135mm, ISO 100
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this kit a month ago along the extended BestBuy warranty. The very first time I downloaded the pictures I noticed a prominent black speck in every single picture taken at F-36 plus a few less visible dark specks. Took it back to BB and they were very helpful - when they saw the pictures I was told they can send the camera for cleaning. After some discussion they decided to just replace it with a new one due to a possible dead pixel on the sensor. Too bad I couldn't test the new one in store due to the low light conditions. The new pictures have specks of dust all over again (taken at 135mm/f-36/ISO 100 /clear blue sky), though not as prominent as the ones from the first camera. Now I will be stuck with a bill for professional sensor cleaning. Canon told me on the phone their warranty doesn't cover sensor cleaning. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. Two out of two cameras and they both come with dusty sensors - totally not worth it. I wish I could switch to something else, but stuck with this now. Ugh.
