    Great intro level DSLR

This camera is a full featured entry level DSLR - if you are a seasoned pro you'll want to go with one of the pricier models, but if you are new to DSLR cameras and are looking to step up from a point and shoot camera to something much more powerful, this is a fine first step. This camera gives you full control over most parameters of your photography, but includes a broad spectrum of presets and automation as well that lets you work your way up to using all the manual tools - if you are a beginner, this camera will carry you for a few years before you begin chafing for something a bit more substantial! The camera body is light and solidly built - all the controls are accessible via buttons on the exterior of the camera as well as through an easily navigable menu. The view screen is generous and bright, easily readable in most settings. The camera also offers a viewfinder which is very helpful when shooting in high glare settings (or when you forget to bring your glasses with you!) The included lenses cover a good range of distances, but you may want to invest in a wide angle lens - a good 12-20mm for getting more into your images (although most of the better ones out there will actually cost more than your camera did). The 75-300mm zoom lens will get you in close to many subjects, but don't expect it to compete with some of those 80x zooms you see on point and shoot cameras! Changing out lenses is easy and fast. There are ample settings for one shot, continuous shot, and timed delay shooting, so if you are shooting an active event you can get some great movement shots, and if you want to get into the picture yourself, its easy to do. When shooting in continuous mode, the camera will pause after five shots to let the data catch up - I've found that three shots is the gets keeps me from getting that delay. Both of these lenses shoot a little on the slow side. There is a slight hesitation after pressing the shutter release. I've also noticed that although the 18-55mm kit lens is equipped with an anti-shake feature, it really doesn't do much. So - consider adding a tripod to your purchase too! The picture quality is excellent - I always shoot in RAW and this camera offers six RAW quality settings and the same for JPEG. Or you can choose to shoot both simultaneously if you don't know a lot about the formats and want to learn. Its great to have both formats to do side by side comparisons. This camera does not have an infrared sensor, so if you wish to use a remote, you'll have to use the Canon Camera Connect mobile app - it is available for both IOS and Android devices (sadly not for Windows 10 mobile devices though!). In addition to letting you control your camera remotely, the mobile apps also let you view the pictures on your camera on the bigger screens of your smartphone (I use my iPad - and its great to see a real time image for composition on that screen - believe me!) The app is pretty easy to use and so far I've found it to be stable and reliable, although more so on my iPad than on my Android phone. This camera is also capable of shooting HD movies and that is a terrific feature - but keep in mind, you'll have to master your lenses in order to stay in focus and do efficient zooms and pans. Overall this is a great camera. Canon lenses can be used on all their DSLR's, so when you are ready to upgrade to a more professional camera back, you'll be able to keep your lens kit and accessories.

    Great First DSLR

After wanting a DSLR for years, but not wanting to spend that much money on myself, needing a phone upgrade I took advantage of the upgrade gift card promotion and then applied the gift card towards the camera. This camera is a breeze to use for somebody with only point and shoot experience. With every picture I take I am amazed at the color and quality of the photos. So far I have only used the auto focus and settings. I am currently reading and watching videos to take advantage of all the potential the camera has. I added a picture of my wifes dog who was a willing model.

Easy to use; great pictures on scene intelligent mode. Love the viewfinder; the LCD monitor is large and works well for photo review. Battery has a long life. Camera is lightweight and easy to carry when traveling. Only downside is the necessity for changing lenses; however, the process is quick and easy. Good camera (and photos) for those desiring ease and convenience.

I was given this camera as a mothers day gift and I'm in love with it! The first t6 I was given had a faulty shutter and I had to return it which was inconvenient but Best Buy made it an easy quick exchange. I am a beginner when it comes to dslr cameras but so far the t6 has been user friendly and easy to learn. My pictures are crisp and clear without me adjusting the settings all the time. My favorite part of the camera is the wifi capability. It's so easy to transfer photos directly to my phone without the hassle of connecting to a computer. I'll never go back to a camera without wifi.

I seemed to be satisfied with camera pictures but decided to see what it would be like to take it to a higher level. For the cost, this was an excellent route to go. It has many features that either let you take "safe" pictures, or easily learn how to step it up a notch with other features. A great buy.

This is my first DSLR camera and I am totally amazed at the resolution of the pictures I am getting. The auto settings make it so easy for a beginner to get amazing shots. The 75mm - 300mm lens is a must if you want to photograph wildlife. I'm a bird enthusiast and have gotten some amazing crisp clear close ups with this lens. The 18-55mm is great for landscapes, family photos, etc. I couldn't be happier with my selection. I only wish the instructions were a little easier. They assume you already know a lot about the different settings i.e. ISO, F-stop, shutter speed etc. and functions of the camera. But they do offer free on-line classes. I'm so glad I bought the camera package.

Light, Easy to use beginner camera. Takes great pictures, up close and from afar. If you want to use manual instead of auto focus I suggest you read some books or look at tutorials to help you use it on manual settings. You can also upload photos from your camera to your smart phone via wifi and an app.

It’s my first dslr camera but here’s some reasons to buy it (from a beginners perspective) 1. it takes nice photos. I personally take photos of birds in day and the city at night 2. Photos are easily transferred to phone 3. As stated on 1. It takes good night photos 4. It’s cheaper than most of the cameras on the market right now. 5. It’s versatile with the two lenses it comes with. I personally prefer the longer one because It makes it easier to take photos of the birds in the trees. 6. It feels nice to hold. A bit heavy to hold for long periods at times time (might need a stand if anything.) 7. The bag it comes with does it’s job. So far it’s still holding. No rips and etc. I take this with me when I go out. Even on the bus 8. My favorite part is that the battery lasts long. I might buy one more battery just in case I go on a long trip. But I say get it if you’re interested in dipping your feet into your new photography hobby and career.

Initial thoughts: Great camera for family memories

Bought this due to my children entering high school and wanting to capture memories of them before they move away. The camera was packaged well and arrived within the timeline Best Buy stated. After a few uses, it appears easy enough to use that I can get great looking pictures without needing a professional photographer taking them. If you can swing the purchase price, it is a great camera for a family to keep around. I wish I would have bought one sooner.

I've been looking at getting a DSLR for quite a while. I read the reviews, looked at Cannon's website, and also spoke with a friend who owned a previous version of this camera. I'm so glad I got this camera. The pictures are beautiful and it's been fairly easy to learn to use. I do recommend going to Cannon's website- there is a series of video tutorials that teach you about the camera and different elements; also how to adjust settings for different situations.

    Canon Vs Smartphone

Back in the hay day of 35mm film, I owned, a few Pentax and Canon Advantix Cameras, but I can't tell you how many rolls of film went undeveloped. With the invention of smart phones, all of my SLR camera's were relegated to the closet never to see the light of day again. I have tracked the prices of digital cameras over the last decade and never felt like I could justify purchasing a digital SLR until now. I must say, I am impressed with the value of modern day digital cameras, and I don't say that lightly. The last three trips I took to Thailand have been documented on Samsung android phones, but there are so many pictures that just don't translate the way you want, and since you can now get a complete camera set-up for about $300 less than a smart phone, why not own both? I am blow away by the ability to integrate your camera with your cell phone. The Canon T6 has the capability to connect with your smart phone so that you can mount the camera on a tripod and use your phone as the digital display. through WiFi or Bluetooth, you can upload the picture you want to post on Facebook whenever you want. Also, nothing is worse than missing a photo op because your phone is almost out of battery life. I haven't learned all of the features, but I can tell just from scratching the surface, that traveling with both, will give me the best of both worlds and the competition has not only made camera manufactures make better cameras, they are also very inexpensive. Go and check them out.. I purchased the Rebel T6 because Canon makes a very fine quality product and they have a lot off user support online. How long has the Rebel been around? At least 20 years, and though Nikon may be the choice of serious photographers, at the end of the day, if it isn't affordable and easy to use, what difference does it make.

It seems everyone in my family has one model or the other of Canon Rebel cameras. I needed something for photography class and knew this was what I wanted. It's done everything I've needed so far and I've only BEGUN to use some of the features. The package with two lenses lets me capture images near and far with no problem at all.

Great camera package, works great with 3rd party remote wireless shutter controls, used to capture Red moon with the 300mm telephoto lens on a tripod . not as great compared to using a camera mount on a big telescope but the picture was acceptable quality adjusting for focal point. Regular photography and even shooting movies are great. Ok for a novice but some knowledge of focal point and light balance would be helpful to use all of the features , great price bundle and the case is perfect to hold everything including my 3rd party remote Shutter and 2 extra batteries and the charger.

Wonderful camera. Have owned an older canon for years but forgot it while going on vacation to europe. Stopped in and picked this up on the way to the airport. Camera is easy to use and the additional lens 75-300, is nice and compact. Package comes with a bag which holds all of the lenses, camera and accessories.

This kit is great for novice photographers that are just getting started. Also perfect for personal use to achieve higher quality snap shots or videos than a cell phone camera can offer. The two pieces this kit does not come with that I would recommend right away would be a memory card and a lens filter. The lens filter will protect from accidental scratches and is way cheaper to replace than the whole lens. If you plan of photographing in low light you'll want to upgrade the flash as well. This camera does not have a very good flash built in, in fact, I make sure never to use it because it usually results in terrible pictures. Overall, I suggest this kit... it's a great camera!
