    Worst Printer

This printer is awful. It jams with paper every single print. You have to open the rear door, un-jam it and refill with paper. Each tray only holds like 5 sheets of paper as well.

First of all would not keep connected to network. Then the paper feed went kaput. Should have been a good AiO for small office. But total waste of money and time

It was almost impossible to get this set up for use even after contacting Geek Squad and Canon. I never was able to get it to work for me.

    Works Great

My Canon MX870 served me well but after 12 years of use it started throwing error messages. I researched the error code but nothing permanently fixed the problem. I live in Yuma AZ and the stores stock almost nothing for printers. I ordered an HP 6978 on sale from Staples. It worked great for two or three days but then the Wi-Fi went haywire. It would only print about 1 in 10 attempts so I returned it. Staples had nothing in stock to replace it with. I decided to give the MB2720 a shot and I like it a lot. Wi-Fi works great. It prints about as fast as you could expect a color inkjet to print. It holds a ton of paper (500 sheets). I would give the MB2720 4.5 stars if possible. I had no issues with the installation. The instructions were right on. You don't need the included CD. My only reservation is the install process is probably the longest I have encountered for a printer but it works great. It came out in 2016 so I am sure there is fancier models out there but it is more than enough printer for my home uses.

It's only as good as its software.

I had this printer for three days and made four calls to Canon tech support. A little background before I move forward. I spent 28 years in IT and did everything short of direct user support. My first call was because the printer would not receive print jobs and threw an 1303 error. Turns out everything was configured properly, but the printer had performed an unapproved firmware update (reboot, no harm no foul). My second and third calls went unanswered at 24 and 33 minutes, and they were to resolve the fact the printer would not wake once it went into sleep or power savings mode (never resolved but I went into eco settings and turned off power saving mode). Even after that, the unit would not print a job once after it was asleep). My fourth call today as to resolve yet another issue of not being able to print landscape on legal (or 8.5x11 for that matter). While not nearly as bad, for people doing remote printing, the included software and downloaded app are both far from intuitive. I was able to get all of the issues resolved, but not one was an easy fix, and two were buried deep in the included drivers software disk. The web app is so convoluted and quite honestly frustrating that I boxed it up and returned it. On another note, when I presented the web app to my wife she said there is no way she would use it, so that alone negated any justification for keeping it. The print quality was good to very good, or a 4-4.5 star rating. The web app is a 2-star rating. The driver's software is a 3-star rating. Not being able to remove and replace the print cartridges until Canon determines they are ready to give you access is a 1-star rating. I took it back and got the Epson Workforce WF-7710 and will review that as a standalone review. By the way, I am a 25 year HP printer 'fanboy;' generically the best printer for the job.

Beats my old HPs hands down

I have always been an HP fan when it comes to laptops and printers. Our last printer had the power cord wear out and it's cheaper to buy a new printer than a cord so I went shopping. Unfortunately, HP now has protections in place on their new printers so they only accept HP inks. I think that is ridiculous enough but it's made worse by how little ink their cartridges hold. Anyways, I shopped around and ended up getting a Canon Maxify MB2720. The main selling point is the cost per page when it comes to ink is 3-5 times most printers. I have printed countless full color prints and I have barely made a dent in my starter cartridges. If you need a printer I highly suggest it. For $200 bucks you can get the printer and a full set of xl cartridges. Not a bad deal!

I am a big fan of Canon printers and after having one finally die after YEARS of trouble free use, I decided to purchase this one since it offered some great features for business: 1. LARGE ink tanks that are not too expensive to replace. 2. Two trays that can hold GOBS of paper. 3. Wireless. So far so good and I am very pleased with this purchase.

    Outstanding Printer; Easy Set-up

I have two laptop computers connected to my home wireless network. I was concerned about connectivity, especially when reading the reviews about people having trouble connecting. This was the easiest connection of a peripheral I have ever had in my life, and I am no geek. Just follow the instructions on the printer touchscreen and on the two handouts supplied by Canon. I had it done within 30 minutes. Best of all, my other laptop already had the software loaded- I did not have to insert the software disk into it to get it connected. The printer itself is very fast, only about 2 seconds slower than our laser printer at work, and faster than our copier at work. I absolutely love it!

Decent prints but a huge design flaw

For the price, the printer does an ok job with prints. Possibly on the overpriced range when compared to prints from the cheaper Pixma line. It has a massive flaw that makes this printer none recommendable. The printer has no manual ink removal ability. That means that if a tank is empty but the system thinks it is still usable, you can't remove it. If a tank has a random issue, like occasional weird lines on a print, you cannot change the cartridge. I do not recommend this printer due to that flaw.
