Great printer I can refill ink but small display

Unboxing Unboxing was very straightforward. Opening the top of the box shows pictures on the correct way to unload the printer, the ink cartridges, and instructions. Picking up the printer it was lighter than expected given the weight of the box. After unboxing I had one printer, 4 bottles of ink and two ink cartridges. What was noticeably absent was a USB cable. This unit is advertised as a wireless unit so it is not entirely disappointing but there is a USB port on the back of the unit and during the setup it does ask if you want to set it up via USB cable but more on that later. physical install Physical install is a tad bit involved since there are 4 ink bottles and two ink cartridges. During the software install it directs you on how to get all the ink and cartridges loaded. This printer only came with two pieces of tape keeping it together and they were not hidden in the unit which was appreciated. After plugging in the unit next steps are to install the two cartridges which are fairly similar to other units and easy. Peel the tape off and place them inside the unit. They slip right in no push to snap so no fear of pushing too hard. The last step and the most fear-inducing is loading the ink into the machine. There are 4 bottles, one large black ink bottle and 3 smaller bottles for the colors. These have to be poured into the unit. There is a potential to spill and permanently damage your clothes or desk. I did not have that happen but I can see it being an issue. One plus is that the tops of the ink bottles are all different so putting the wrong color in the wrong reservoir would be fairly impossible unless you forced it. software install In the box there is a website to go to to download the software. There is also a QR code for installation with a mobile device. I opted to use my PC and go directly to the site provided. The site gives you an option to download the application via the windows store or as a direct download. I first selected to download from the Windows store. After clicking the link my browser completely closed. I assumed I just had a fluke crash but that was not the case on a second attempt the same thing happened. Thankfully there was a direct download link. After downloading the program installation was very straight forward with pictures of exactly what to do. Since I did not have a USB cable the program directed me on how to get the printer set up completely wirelessly. It also directs you on how to install the ink. The whole set up process took about 10 mins Function Print jobs look great and colors are full. I did not have to align my printer heads but there is an option to do so. Scanning was also fairly simple. You can copy to black or color with one button press or you can scan to PC. Scan to PC only listed the PC I completed the install on and not other PC’s on my network. So it seems you will need to install it on each computer in your home or office. There is also an option to Airdrop a document to the printer which also worked well. This printer does have a web UI that gives various pieces of information about the printer and allows you to make setting changes. As an FYI the default password is the serial number which is located on the back of the printer. I had to look this up as I did not find it included in the documentation provided. Set up was fairly easy. I do like being able to easily view my ink levels and the prints are great. My hang ups are the small screen on the front of this unit. You have to be pretty close to read it. The panel on the front also does not move so you only get one good view angle.Lastly the ink delivery I would much rather have a cartridge with little to no potential for a spill. What Canon has done here makes it pretty foolproof with different colors having different heads on the bottle but the potential is still there.

Canon G3270 is a little beyond entry-level all in one large tank printer from Canon. Canon and Epson have been coming out with many models of this type of printer – the initial purchase costs more than their other inkjet but it costs very little to use since the inks comes in bottles instead of cartridges which are very costly. Each set can print as many as 6000 black and white pages and up to 7700 pages in color. Your mileage may vary if you do full color pages or photos. This printer can print duplex but in manual mode only. The driver will tell you to flip the paper over at the end of the front page. It really is not that hard but you have to be around the printer when this happens – so it may not be for everyone especially if you are very busy. The old models of these Canon printer had one thing that alarmed me. I could have easily filled the wrong color into the wrong tank since the nozzles are identical in shape. This means if the wrong color (in any amount) goes into the wrong tank, you might as well dump the printer because there is no easy way to purge the ink. This printer will only take the correct ink since the nozzles are keyed, but do pay attention when you fill the ink anyway. The initial set up takes a while and you need to follow the poster by the letter. Pay absolute attention to what you are doing and do not get distracted. You are directed to their (Canon) website to download the drivers, etc. While the entire bottles will fill the tank, it takes a bit of ink to fill the lines (tubes) that go to the printheads. But since another set of inks isn't that expensive, it's not a bad idea to have an extra one just in case. Canon comes with neat programs when you install the driver. Where that you could do all kind of things with this printer. You can also print from your phone, remotely as well. I think this printer is perfect for a college student. It probably isn't heavy-duty enough to be shared in a busy office because the tray only holds a hundred sheets of paper, and it has to be filled fairly often. Keep in mind that this type of printer needs to be used once in a while as the printheads make it clogged. (It is not unusual for an inkjet printer to do that.) But since it costs a little to print, you might as well print something once a week to prevent it from happening. I configured my program that I used to print postage and it printed envelopes without any problem. The scanner on the top turns this printer into a copier. There is no auto feed function so you have to scan/copy one item at a time – and the largest size would be the letter size. You can directly connect your computer via the USB, or you can use Wi-Fi to print. It supports 2.4 gigahertz and five gigahertz. The driver now supports Windows 11 all the way back to Windows 7. It doesn't work with Windows XP for those that have the old computers. For Apple Macintosh, it supports that, and according to the website, it support Chrome book as well but I am unable to test it. It has auto power which you could tell the printer to turn itself off – and when this happens, the printer parks its print heads, so it will not dry out. And it will wake itself up when you send it a page to print. I have seen some people carrying a printer to the library to print stuff – most places allow that but you have to be very careful. If the lid (of the inktank) is not on tightly, the ink will leak – so do not tilt the printer when you have to move it. Fortunately and I think it took Canon a while to catch on – there is a replacement maintenance tray in the back. (Canon MC-G04). Most people do not know what this is. If you have defects when you print the page – for example some lines that are not being printed due to clogged printheads, you could run the "clean print head" function. What this does is actually it squirts the ink through the printhead to unclog it. There is also a heavy-duty function that uses more ink to do this – but since seeing isn't that expensive – it isn't the problem. The sponge on the bottom of the printhead soaks up the extra ink and if it gets too wet, the printer stops working. The older model that had no replaceable maintenance tray, you would have to take it to their official factory service center to get that replaced. Many people just basically throw the printer away (but it doesn't happen until you do this quite a lot) but nevertheless the newer models have the replaceable maintenance tray so when the printer tells you the tray is full (which means it is soaked with ink) you simply remove it and put in a new one. The new one costs about USD10 or so and you could continue to use the printer. The printer works well for a small office with one, or two person. But if you have to print a lot and especially on both sides of the paper, it could get in your way (especially if it is used by more than one person), but for a home office, I think it is quite perfect if you don't mind scanning/copying the paper one piece at a time. It prints pretty loudly but there is a "quiet mode" which will work a little slower but it is, more quiet of course. When you set this up, you have to install the printheads. The color printheads will not fit into the black ink printhead or vice versa. But you really have to pay attention to what you are doing. I could not tell the output of this printer to another Megatank printer that I have (or from another manufacturer.) There are pretty much similar. And if you pay a little more, you could get one that holds more paper (bigger tray, or more than one tray), and may print faster, or may have the automatic sheet feeder on the top that you could copy or scan a bunch of papers automatically. The more expensive models might be able to scan on both sides by flipping the paper or have they dual scanner (that scans both sides at once.) You really do get what you pay for but those could be quite expensive but are made to be used all day long. Some of their top-of-the-line models actually has a fax machine built-in, as well. Some will print on 11 x 17 paper too. This printer is perfect for high school/college student. Even for a teacher who does not mind investing a bit more money by buying this type of printer which will cost him or her a lot less money when the inks are replaced. For a home based office, it would do fine (unless you need a fax machine but nowadays you could get E fax account which is extremely convenient and inexpensive, too.) But for a multiuser, since it doesn't do duplex, it may cause some confusion if more than one person is using it at once. (The first job has to be flipped over to print on the other side, before the second job is printed.) If you take this to work (if that is allowed, that is), you may as well connect it to your computer via a USB cable as you will have to connect it wirlessly to the work's network account, and some place may not let you do that without an official permission. I strongly recommend this printer with the minor inconvenience mentioned above for those who print a lot – it pays for itself pretty much in no time. I have a similar printer (also can) that I took to work and I use it every day and it really took almost a year to have to fill the ink.

Canon Pixma Mega tank G3270 all n one super tank ink net printer. I’ll start with the screen it is so small and hard to read so much printer for such a horrible screen this isn’t 2001 printers have come along way since then. Next set up was kinda weird for some reason I couldn’t get it to connect to the internet to be able to do wirelessl printing from my phone, laptop, tablets etc. I got frustrated and just left it a line for about two days, I’ve had canon printers before and never had this much of an issue, once I finally got that internet part finally going next was installing heads & filling up ink tanks it comes with four ink bottles black, yellow, blue, magenta at first I was pretty nervous about having to fill up my own ink bottles and just making a mess everywhere that ended up being not to bad. And after researching ink refill is bit cheaper then cartridges that’s a plus, according to canon you can get 6000 black prints and 7700 color prints I’m thinking maybe on low quality print you can we’ll see it will take me some time to reach that many prints with past printers they all say the same thing and I feel like I don’t teach printing that many pages before the ink runs out. I always have printer set to print the best quality maybe that’s the issue. Print quality is very good, even with pictures on photo paper the quality looked nice and sharp on both black and white pictures & color. The printer is capable of printing in regular paper legal and non legal size, envelopes and photo paper, I also did an envelope test that was fairly easy and worked out well although I’m old fashion and prefer just hand writing letters & addresses myself I still wanted to try it out. Make sure to download the canon printer app makes it easy to make adjustments to printing & printing from your phone I already had it downloaded so once I got past the initial internet mess it was a breeze from there. Size why it’s good definitely not small but not to big either. I would not recommend for high volume printing I think small business who doesn’t print big batches at a time or a good home printer for printing kids home work or needed photo copies or recipes prints which I use it for most of the time.

THE BREAKDOWN: The Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3270 Wireless all-in-one printer is ideal for those that are tired of replacing ink cartridges. It is lacking in some feature for printers in this price point. Unboxing and setup: The setup for this printer is easy. After removal of a few pieces of tape you then install the print heads and fill the ink tanks. Next step is setting up via Wi-Fi and an app. I think you can have this printer up and running in around 5 min. The Printer: The size of the printer is small and doesn’t take up much room. This printer has Wi-Fi direct printing along with mobile printing and scanning. There is only one paper tray so if you print on different size paper you will have to swap out the paper. The paper try only holds 100 sheets of legal-size pages. One of the downfalls is that this printer does not allow auto duplexing it is manual. This means that it prints one side of the document then you must remove the paper then hopefully put it back in the correct orientation to print the second side. The scanning bed can only scan letter size so you cannot scan full legal-size pages. The ink for this printer lasts for 6000 mono text pages and 7,700 standard color pages. The printing speed is 11 pages per minute in black and 6 pages per minute in color. PRO’s: - Prints, scans, and copies - Ink tanks to save money on ink - Ink was included - Supports mobile printing CON’s: - No automatic document feeder - Scans letter size only - Manual duplexing - Only holds 100 sheet capacity - Slow printing speed SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for bike like this.

The Canon - PIXMA MegaTank G3270 seems to be a great printer for me. I have only had it a few weeks, but it has been nice so far. Set up was fairly quick and easy. Printing is good quality and copying & scanning are easy and effective. The ink tanks are easy to fill and seem like a more economical approach to the ink. All in all it looks like a good tool at an decent price, especially when on sale.

As a member of the Tech Insider's Network, I recently received the Canon Pixma MegaTank G3270 printer to review. Unpacking was easy. Physical setup is trivial (remove orange tape, install paper, install the two print heads (color/black), fill the tanks with ink). This was all very straightforward. The tanks are keyed to the ink bottles so you can't make a mistake in filling. I tried making a few copies and that worked fine (colors were saturated and reasonably true for a copier). It was very loud, however. I wouldn't want to sit next to it all day. The screen is, unfortunately, miniscule. Then I tried to do the wifi setup with my iPhone 13. FRUSTRATION! It set up OK. Looking at the router, I could see it was on the same 2.4GHz network as the phone. I was able to browse to the status page. However, every time I tried to find the printer from the iPhone app it failed. I tried the setup several times and finally I got it to take, but then when I tried to print it said "printer not found". The troubleshooting (power cycle printer, router, phone) was useless. The same thing happened when I repeated the setup using an iPad. Both the iPhone and iPad were running the latest versions of iOS. Then I tried to do the setup from a Windows 11 laptop. I dug out an old USB-B cable and plugged that in, but I decided to try the wifi setup from the laptop. Surprisingly, that worked fine and I was able to print. I downloaded new firmware for the printer and then it worked fine with my iphone as well. So, if you're having trouble with setup from an iOS device, my suggestion is to try windows. Now that it's setup up, it works fine to copy, scan, and print. Turns out I didn't need that old USB-B cable. Back into the box of useless cables for it. The print and scan quality is fair to good. Canon claims that you can print 6000 B&W pages on a tank (and 7000 color). A black tank cost approximately as much as a black cartridge on my current Canon printer, but with a cartridge, I was lucky to be able to print 100-200 pages. The savings are incredible. Canon does recommend printing something every month to keep the ink flowing smoothly.

Blows away any hp printer I've ever used! Super easy setup. If you are into printing 68 million pages this printer is a lil slow but for a regular person I love it. I don't print double sided but this printer doesn't. Oh 100 page limit on print tray. Besides those things I buy black ink by the quart, it lasts forever, I'm never low or out of ink. Great printer imo.

It's about time this type of printer became available from more manufacturers. I have a few dead Canon printers sitting in a corner in my basement (to lazy to bring them to e-waste) and the main reason they are in the state they are in is the ink pad. This new process with the ink tanks and print heads is great. Cons: Default sleep mode. Not too crazy about that. Should be a option that you get to pick when you set it up. It doesn't do duplex printing. That's it for the con's Pro: Tanks, they make life so much easier. I hated paying a premium for cartridges. If you ever tried using aftermarket cartridges you know how hit or miss they are. This system is lightyears ahead of the now old way. Prints pretty quick which most Canon printers do. Photo printing is hit or miss but I haven't used photo paper so that may change once I use the proper paper to print photos with. Connecting the printer to my network was easy peasy. I love that I can take a pic of something away from the house and if I have paper in my printer I can send the image to it over the internet which has been a function of most printers for years. Just install the app and the rest is cake. Looking forward too putting this through the paces in the coming weeks.

This eco tank printer is surprisingly impressive for my small business of 5 people. We regularly need to view schematics sent by customers and sometimes they are color coded. It doesn’t take long to figure out why it’s called “eco” either. Instead of needing to replace a plastic ink cartridge every 300 pages, you replace the print head every few thousand pages. I was worried about trying a new type of ink printer, especially after all the headaches that come with older ink cartridge printers. However, this printer has been flawless. Set up was simple and printing my first page was even easier. Canon did a great job making an easy-to-use device with even better quality. The printing quality seems good enough for most business needs, I am able to print fine lines as small as 1mm without any issues. Photos come out clear as well, great for marketing materials or charts and reports. It’s on the slower end when it comes to pages-printed per minute. But that’s nothing new for ink printers. It’s a great device for a small business

The Canon PIXMA Mega Tank printer has been really great so far. This printer uses bottles of ink vs. the traditional cartridge. I have seen that the bottles last MUCH longer than the plastic cartridge and are much cheaper. it connected to my computer very quickly and holds 100 pieces of paper. I like that you can see how much paper is left at the top. you can also see how much ink is left in the viewing windows. It copies very quickly. you can also print from your phone, which makes this handy in our day and age. it is am ink jet, so there is a bit of dry time before you can highlight or use a marker. if you go to quick it will smear or streak. it will no Duplex print (print on the back) by itself. you can self load the paper back in the machine quickly. it does not have a tray to scan multiple pages at once, which is the biggest down fall in my opinion. It works great for the random assignments my kids need to print and some small photo jobs, but this would not be great at a paper heavy office.

What a surprise installing our new G3270. I'm 78 not real techie and usually need my IT friend to always help. This Canon was the easiest install I have ever encountered, by myself! Their tutorial was fantastic and in 20 minutes out of the box I was printing great copies. Could not wait to get away from HP and so far this is a great buy. Thanks Best Buy associate for you help before I ordered and you too Canon for a great experience.

The Canon - PIXMA MegaTank G3270 Wireless All-In-One SuperTank Inkjet Printer is a decent printer that can be used for most home and office tasks. Taking the printer out of the box and setting it up was fairly easy, but the software setup was one of the worst I’ve encountered while setting up a printer. It has a QR code that will direct you to their website for easy setup, or you can type in the provided URL. As you scan the QR code using your smartphone it will take you to their website, which you guide you through the first several steps, then it will guide you to download the Canon app to complete setup. This is where things were not that great. The app was not able to find the printer. Even when I tried connecting to the printer’s built in WiFi, it still could not find the printer. This was not good because I was unable to retrieve the next several steps on how to setup the printer, such as how to install the ink cartridges and ink bottles. I then visited the link on my MacBook and it instructed me to download their computer app. The computer app was able to connect to the printer and was able to complete the setup process. I then reopened the mobile app, and it was able to connect to the printer. It appears the mobile app can only connect to the printer after setting it up from a computer. Hopefully, this is just a glitch that can be fixed. The print quality is decent, but the speed is a bit slow. The flatbed scanner is also slow compared to other printers I’ve used. The printer is OK for what it does, but I feel there are better options out there.
