I purchased this printer to replace my previous old printer from another company: Canon - PIXMA MegaTank G7020 Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer with Fax - Black

Had a $100 maxify but I got it for the bottle ink. Worst change is that there is no backlight on the display requiring a flashlight to read it. Also much slower on printing and scanning. Not sure the ink difference is worth it.

    Hateful Internet and Menu

This is my first Canon and my last. The print quality is good, however the user menu and internet connection setup stink. It only supports 2.4 GHz which is fine because my router supports that, however it loses the wifi connection often. Just now I printed something and 5 minutes later tried printing another document and bam, no wifi. It's a pain to re-connect and now I'm having trouble and cannot get it back on. The menu is hard to read and I did download the connection assistant to no avail. Sometimes that works and sometimes not. This is a "not" and I'm super frustrated. I took a chance on this printer and worried the ink fill/refill would be the issue, but no, it's the user interface and menu itself. Wish I could still return it. I am a MAC user, so not sure if that lends to this issue, but note that my computer does not lose wifi and no other printer I've had in the past has done so with the frequency of this printer. Literally from one print job to the next - never had anything like it and hopefully never will again. I'm actually considering donating it and buying something else.

We have used it for a few weeks now and we love it. We have printed over 2 reams of paper and still the ink tanks are full. We have not tried photographs on photo paper, but we didn't buy it for that purpose.

I ended up returning this a couple hours after I set it up. I printed a photo and compared it to my 8 year old printer and the colors were faded. I used the canon photo paper that was included. I played with the contrast on the computer but still didn’t get acceptable quality. I gave up once I ran out of the sample paper that was included.

Great color on copies and glossy pictures. Ink tanks are so much better than cartridge printer I had previously. Got it on sale as well.

Bought this as a replacement for another Canon Printer that we have had for 6 years. I liked the Mega Tank from Canon more than the Epson models because it was provided the features that we need for our small home office.

Finally, a printer with a sensible ink supply! After years of pumping money into HP, I am happy to leave their business behind. Wise up HP! Cheap printers and expensive ink is a poor choice for keeping your customers happy.

It is a very good printer but wasn't the easiest to set up - It also doesn't always print when I send it the request. I isn't as fast as the sales people told me it was. I would guess it prints about 5 pages a minute.

IF you want a cheaply made plastic printer that IS not user friendly with the set up etc., this is your Printer! When you compare this manufacturer to the HP Products I have owned over the years; there is no comparison. THE ONLY reason that this Printer was purchased over the HP this time, IS because of the monopoly that HP has over their HP Cartridges, along with controlling how long your Printer lasts, with their invasive firmware updates. Not one bit satisfied with this Printer. The HP I had, was purchased nearly 6 years ago & had been a great printer, with two paper trays & the works. Until my July firmware update, it worked without any flaws & was very user friendly. THEN, the update stopped it from functioning & that is proven. Anyways, I will not buy another Canon Product. It's a shame, because I loved their cameras & they should stick with that product line, it's what they know best.
