    Decent Home Printer

My old canon printer finally gave up after years of great service. Was in need of another printer but not one that can handle a ton of work, simply because it won't be seeing a ton of usage. Started browsing Bestbuy website and noticed it was on sale. Went to the store and was pleasantly surprised by the small compact size of the unit. The old printer I had was pretty large. It was easy to install on my desktop computer because it will be hardwired to the unit. Wi-fi connection was a different story. The unit does not have a screen on it for you to enter a password if your router has one. For those that aren't technically savy, it will be a bit difficult because of this. My suggestion is you aren't totally computer savy and can maintain a home network, to install on your phone the canon app. The app can program the printer and allow you to enter the associated password of the router to the printer. As for the features, they are serviceable. It doesn't allow for faxes if that is a deal breaker, you have been warned. One of the great features that I really love is the ability of the printer to print on both sides with having to manually reinsert the paper. You just select the option for the printer to print on both sides and it will print on one side and before it releases the paper, it will automatically feed it back into the machine and then print on the other side and finally release the paper. Great for college students who have teachers that allow for you to have a single sheet of paper of notes on tests and whatnot. The unit does not come with a USB cable, so, if you are replacing a previous canon printer, keep the USB, as you will need it.

This inkjet printer has been great and saves a lot of space. It was easy to set up and I truly enjoy the wireless option. I even taught my husband how to print from his mobile phone. We have been using a rather old version printer by Brothers which took up a lot of space.

I was very pleased with this printer, which I purchased when in another city. It is small and inexpensive. But the characters are very sharp, it prints rapidly and well. It is easy to install and use. It scans and copies. Only deficit is the ink cartridge ran out of ink quickly. I learned that there are different amounts of ink, so spending more on the cartridge solves that problem.

I bought this printer for my mother because I hoped it would be as easy to use as the MG3100 series printer that I have owned and enjoyed for years. So far, she has only printed and copied a couple documents, but I haven't heard any complaints yet :) What I can attest to is the ease of setup. I went to the website listed in the paper setup instructions that came with the printer in order to download and install the printer drivers on her laptop. The step-by-step on-screen instructions were very easy to follow, but I was especially pleased that I did not have to physically connect the printer to a computer or a router (this printer did not come with those cables in the box anyway) in order for it to connect to the wireless network. During the setup process, the printer automatically detected and connected to her secure wireless network. Usually this is the most challenging part of setting up a device, so that was a pleasant surprise. So far the printer is working great. I am only giving 4 (out of 5) stars because I cannot yet speak to the longevity of the ink or the durability of the product over time.

Great occasional printer! I use da printer maybe once every other month and this one has been great. It starts up way quicker than my HP and doesnt waste tons of ink doing warm ups. It is small but quick and good for low volume printing. EZ setup with phone, and ez to update the firmware (been out for years so has updates)

I purchased this printer exclusively for home use and so far, I am satisfied with the production and quality of the prints. My printer is paired with both my PC and Mac and had little issues setting up the printer for USB and wifi connectivity. One thing I do emphasize is to follow the instructions that are included with the printer to ensure your setup process goes smoothly. Also, if you plan on using the printer connected via USB, ensure that you purchase a USB-A to USB-B cable. The printer does not include a USB cable. As a budget printer, I knew what to expect and I wasn't wrong. The scanner is decent, the printer is loud when turning it on and while it prints, but again, not a deal breaker. I am happy with the purchase I made and would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a basic home printer for occasional printing. If you do need to print multiple pages, I would recommend a laser jet printer that easily handles high volume printing.

I wanted an inexpensive, yet multi-functional printer to use on my boys' computer and I settled on this one. I already own a different but similar Canon printer model and have been very pleased with it. This one has been a charm to use, with no issues or complaints to date. Easy to set up. There were a couple of complaints on reviews about it spitting the paper out onto the floor because there isn't a tray. There is actually a small arm that you can extend out from the paper feed and it will catch the paper as it is printed. So just remember to pull the arm out when printing (or leave it out). The only thing that I don't care for is the auto shut-off. I always forget to have to turn it on each time I return to the computer to print. There may be a way to turn this off but I haven't yet taken the time to look through the manual. If you are looking for an easy and functional printer that is inexpensive, this one is it. The other Canon printer we have is the Pixma MG6320 and I LOVE it. It is only a little bit more expensive, but for printing pictures it is awesome. Also, both have been very easy to use with wi-fi wireless printing from my smart phone. I would highly recommend both!

My HP printer would not recognize a new ink cartridge. I called support and they told me that the printer would only recognize ink cartridges purchased through their replacement program. This is not true as I have used ink cartridges purchased from other retailers. I decided to purchase a new printer. The Canon had the features that fit my needs and it was wireless. I only use a few times a month and it has performed well. The only issue that is consistent, is the bluetooth connection. When attempting to print from my phone, an error message pops up on my phone showing that the printer is not ready. After a few minutes and attempts, the printer will begin to print. This is just annoying.

The best thing I can say about this printer: It does the job. The printouts look great and it's easy to set up and use (for the most part). The only issue I've had is the length of time the printer takes to work. It's a bit noisy and struggles at time to draw in the paper you've loaded, but it works. It's a nice cheap option for a home office or personal use.

A good printer with affordable priced prinking ink. This inkjet printer does a good job printing both black and color with great quality. Once purchased, I was able to quickly set it up with no hassles. The printer connected flawlessly to the internet and was able to communicate with my phone, iPad and laptop through which i was able to print very easily. The scanner present in the printer is also good in terms of scanning the right color out of the page expected. The Canon "PRINT" app can be used to control majority of tasks of the printer and is easy to use with printer. The only downside is, it does not have a LCD.

A family member suggested this printer to me and I'm glad I got it. I don't print a lot so I don't need a fancy printer. This is a great, basic printer. It's not bulky and I was glad it came in black to match my computer. It's easy to set up, ink cartridges are easy to install as well. Other reviews mentioned that they had a little difficulty connecting to the wifi. Upon my first try, it didn't connect right away, but the second time I tried, it connected just fine and I haven't had any issues since. I've only had it a short time, but so far I have used most of the features - printing, scanning, and photocopying and I haven't had any problems with use. My reason for 4 stars is that they call this an all-in-one printer, however, it is missing the fax feature. I know most people don't fax anymore, but on occasion, I do still need to send one, so I wish this feature was available, but it's not a dealbreaker for the price. Good deal!

I’ve only used it for a few simple print jobs so far, but it was easy enough to set up and things printed from mobile in the expected format. It feels like it runs slow when receiving print jobs and starting up, but I’ve never had a printer that didn’t feel slow doing that, so it’s probably average. Which makes it a good deal for the price, especially since it came with some ink included. It’s a lot lighter than expected, which is convenient. I do wish it came with a USB cable to simplify connections further (I inevitably run into problems with wireless devices which would not be problems if I could just plug in) and the computer set up looked more complicated than mobile, I haven’t gotten around to that yet. It came with a CD to install it, and my computer doesn’t have a disc drive so I’ll have to track down the software online.

I bought this budget printer for basic printing once in a while. I use it to print a few things then I pack it back in it's original box until I need it again. That's how little I ise this. I never have a problem. And I think I have had it well over a year and still using the original ink.
