This is a reliable, inexpensive all-in-one that not only prints well, but scans well and photo prints with surprisingly good results. The Creative package that comes with it is also very handy for making cards, calendars, etc.

It automatically shuts off which is fine but I have to turn it on each time I want to print. It doesn’t just automatically turn back on. The print quality is good. Every once in a while when I print an attachment it prints really small. The only way I’ve figured out how to make it a normal size is open it as a PdF. Which is an extra step and annoying.

Decent printer that doesn’t take up too much desk space. My only gripe is after a year of owning, I still can’t setup wireless printing, which seems to be the issue with most other users. Other then that, I’m happy with what I paid for

lightweight printer which performs heavyweighted tasks. Connects up to your network and becomes a workhorse. prints on both sides of the paper in color and or black and white. doesn't use much ink and after market cartridges are inexpensive enough. All and all for under 100.00 it's a great printer.

This is my third Canon printer. First one lasted 7 years, finally had to replace it. Second one, paper jammed, not worth repairing. So cheap in price and ink cartridges included, I bought this. It is not as solid as the first one I had but it does the job.

Can only be connected WIRELESSLY to a Chromebook

The Customer Rep at Best Buy recommended this printer to work with a Chromebook. But he did not tell me that it CANNOT be connected with USB. It is only Chromebook compatible with a wireless connection. I wasted a lot of time trying to find out why the printer was only working intermittently. Best Buy was no help. They told me to bring the printer and laptop to the store. Calling Canon resolved the problem, although it took 35 minutes, as it must be first connected through the phone. 1-800-652-2666. I understand that the Best Buy floor reps can't know everything about everything, but I would have saved hours of frustration had I been informed or had the "Getting Started" instructions mentioned this incompatibility.

    Impossible to perform setup

Amazing performance at a very low cost. The problem with the product is getting it setup. The data sheets were absolutely wrong. A YouTube video showed only the portion getting the unit on WiFi. Computer initialization was worthless. After repeatedly doing the same sequence and simply waiting for the firmware to download while reading blogs of how a seemingly trivial process could fail so many times. Setup can only be compared to using ID.me. Both experiences came from the depths of technology hell. The good news is that once across the River Styx, heaven awaits. The iPhone app is intuitive and the document scans allow ID.me to open the treasury doors. My eldest son knows I’ve offered him as collateral to get this install to complete.

After conferring with a sales person at Best Buy, I purchased this printer. It is small but does what I need. However, it came with a disc for instructions, and my computer does not access disc drives. I went on line for instructions, and after days of trying, I scheduled the Geek Squad to install and connect it. It still doesn't work correctly.

Use the Canon PRINT app for installation

THIS REVIEW ONLY COVERS INSTALLATION. Canon has you download and installation program from their website. It has two flaws that make it useless. 1. First it tries to connect your device to the printer without ever connecting the printer to the network first. This is physically impossible. It can't be recognized unless it's part of the network. 2. After that obviously fails, they have you attempt a method known as WPS to connect the printer to the network. This is outdated and obsolete. Internet providers have removed that functionality from their routers siting security concerns. Now you're left with no way to use THEIR installation program to install THEIR printer. After searching YouTube, I found a video that shows how to get it connected. The short version is: 1. Download the Canon PRINT app from Google Play to your phone. 2 It will walk you thru a setup process that identifies the network name and pswd to the printer and allows it to connect to the network. 3. After that, you can just use the Windows printer setup in printer settings to connect your laptop or PC to the printer. As an added bonus, because the app is on your phone, you can print from your phone as well. Do note from the above that it was a Canon app used for the install. If Canon had simply provided that in the instructions, it would've been a painless install. Why they would give you a program that has no way of working is beyond any understanding.

Canon PIXMA = Great Value and Makes Life Easier!

I had several older models of the Canon PIXMA in black over the years. I absolutely love this product, as it makes my life easier! It is a very reasonably priced product, which competitors can't touch. This Canon PIXMA is fabulous, as it allows me to easily print documents, as well as scan photos and important documents for work as well as personal reasons. The Canon Image Garden software came included with the purchase of this printer. It is really great, as I can easily save and crop photos that I scan into my computer. My experience with this device has been very positive, and I would highly recommend it to anyone I know! Furthermore, the black and color ink cartridges are reasonably priced (compared to pricey competitors, like HP). I am a loyal Canon customer, and will be purchasing their products for years to come!
