Great printer that does everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because of my past experience with Canon printers. This one prints perfectly and even prints on printable DVDs. It is not as fast as some, and is pretty big, but it prints as well as any, and it also scans with a paper feeder. The paper tray holds a lot, and the photo paper tray keeps the paper from curling. I have not used the fax portion, but everything else works as advertised. For the price you can't beat it.

Problems with wifi hook-up to Apple MacBook Pro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was going to give this a 2 star rating. Had nothing but problems trying to print from the mx922 to a Apple Mac Book Pro MGX82LL/A. Got the Wifi hooked up to our router. But for some reason it would not communicate with the Apple Mac Book Pro. Keep on getting a error code #1007. It seems like it wanted to print to the top tray & not the bottom one which holds the larger paper. But it seem also to be a Wifi issue between the Apple MacBook Pro & MX922 printer. Looked up the code on Google. Found many others have the same problem with this & other Cannon printers. The problems was had to update the current drivers which fix the Wifi problem between the computer & printer.

Best Printer for the Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this printer from Best Buy yesterday and this is by far the best printer I have ever purchased. It was easy to install and I had a Pixma mx479 before that so the software was already installed. All I had to do was connect the printer to my wifi and then used my Surface Pro 2017 and my iPhones/iPad's to search for the device. After I found the device connected to my wifi I was able to click on it and start using it right away. It is a bit slow printing and scanning so I wouldn't say this would be a good option for a business to use but for personal use, it's the best printer you can buy at this price point. It allows for duplex scanning which the previous version I had did not have. It was only good at scanning one side of the document and if there's something on the back of a document then you're screwed if you're using the old printer. This new printer has a designated tray for regular paper and photo paper that's built underneath where the paper comes out after printing which is nice bc it's neatly tucked away and not just sticking out collecting dust. I only use Cannon printers because they've always worked well for me. I keep my printer on 365 a year so the previous printer I had only lasted me 2yrs before it broke. I couldn't get it to reset and it kept throwing an error code which really aggravated me because there are no support articles about this error message so I tried to reset the whole printer and it didn't work. I decided it was time for a new printer and I wanted a similar style and functionality so I went with this printer and I'm glad I did bc I didn't have to download any new drivers or software. It was almost all plug and play and the things that you print and scan from it is extremely clear. I use this printer on my iPhone 8Plus, my iPad Pro 12.9", my Surface Pro 2017 and my son's iPhone SE. There is a Cannon app that you can download for iOS(not sure about Andriod but I would imagine so). This one has a bright color led screen which you can actually see what you're doing unlike the Pixma MX479 which only had an analog screen. Overall, if you're looking for a wireless printer, fax machine, and scanner then you have found the perfect printer here. Again, it is a little slow printing and scanning things but I use it for personal use and it's perfect. I wouldn't use this for a business setting, although I would imagine it would work just as well but the printer is not going to last you that long bc it's not designed for business use. It's designed for personal use and for $70, it's not a bad buy at all. I'm still stoked that you can scan the front and the back of a document and save it as a PDF, no more only being able to scan one side of the document and having to flip the document over and scan it separately and then having to use Adobe PDF to rearrange the pages. That's a money saver right there. I like having digital copies of all of my documents in case I need them while I'm on the go so I scan everything. It also beats having to file paperwork and then sift through all your paper docs for the one you're looking for because now you can store everything on the computer and organize it the way you want and finding the document is so much easier. Overall, I would recommend my friends and family to buy this printer bc it has all the functionality that you need and it does it's job well which is surprising since it was only $70. Even the photo's come out clear as day on glossy photo paper as if you went to a photoshop and asked them to print out your pictures for you but who does that these days? I doubt anyone still keeps a photo album in this day in age bc you can store everything on your computer or your smartphone. You can also view it on your smartphone so there's really no reason to print out pictures now a days unless it's a special occasion and you want to put it in a frame. Otherwise, I just keep it on my phone and my laptop.

Great printer with easy setup!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a very old Canon that had worked well for years but finally the scan function quit working so we decided to get new. We first went with a HP but the picture quality was not good so we went back to Canon and have been extremely pleased. The set-up was extremely easy and only took about 30 minutes including unpacking - not bad considering I am not very technically inclined. Picture quality is awesome and all of the other features are top notch. When you consider the price (under $100) and that it includes full ink cartridges it is a great value for home printing. I would highly recommend it!

Decent Printer / Necessary Cable Not Included
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cons first - this printer does not come with a USB cable. If you want to use the scanner, you will have to buy a USB cable. This cost me $27 at Best Buy. The warm up time is really slow and the printer itself is large compared to others. Now the pros - the print quality is good and so far, the ink usage is acceptable. I'm disappointed the cable was not included since it is necessary for one of the printer's functions. For this reason, I would not recommend the printer to a friend.

Very Easy Set-Up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know it is early to post a thorough review, but thought I'd let everyone know how easy this was to set-up. It seems it took longer to unpack it and install ink cartridges than it did to get it to work with an Imac and a Windows 8.1 laptop. It just worked.

Perfect for light home use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion consumer printers are disposable after about 3 years. I have tried all the name brands, so went with Canon for the first time. Overall, it prints very nice photos. B/W printing is plenty fast. Machine is a little on the large side, but manageable. Set up is pretty easy. Total set up time with CD install is about 30 minutes. Functionality is very good overall and for the price I think you cannot go wrong at $90.00 on sale.

excellent for scanning double sided automatic feed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to scan a ton of tax receipts and legal docs which were double sided. I researched for a printer that was reasonably priced. This one was the clear choice for me. One of the outstanding feature is the capability to scan without a computer. I just installed a flashdrive, turn it on, feed about a 1/2 stack of double-sided docs, tell it to scan to the flashdrive, and away it goes. The output is one pdf file of the whole stack, one page for each side. I then feed some more and get another pdf file. It did not take long at all to do several stacks. It would have taken me forever to flip pages without that auto feeder. The scanned output was readable when I plugged in the flashdrive on my computer. Another nice feature is the ability to print on both sides of the paper automatically. The quality is reasonable, better than the printer that this replaced. Also, connecting wirelessly to both windows and linux (ubuntu) was a snap. Scanning from windows and ubuntu also worked perfectly. Overall, this was a great buy. I got it on sale for $99 at Bestbuy.

These printers generally only last about 3 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third Canon MX printer. I choose Canon printers because they work seamlessly with Apple products, and they look good. That being said, my last two, an MX822 and MX892, only lasted about 3 years until they abruptly went dead...I'm beginning to think Canon does this on purpose. The MX922 is working just fine now, but I don't expect it to last more than 3 years, unfortunately, which is why I am giving it an average rating. Other than that, so far, I can tell the MX922 is sucking down the ridiculously priced ink fast for the amount I print. I have also noticed the color cartridge levels declining as fast as the black cartridges even though I print "black only" about 99% of the time...I mostly print out black and white shipping labels and black and white invoices these days. I liked my MX892 better because I could load paper in one of two trays, the front or the back. I could keep an 8.5x11 sheet of labels in the rear tray, and regular paper in the front tray. With the MX922, there is only one tray that accepts regular size paper. The other tray is for small size photo paper or something, utterly useless in my opinion, a terrible decision on the part of Canon.

Nice all-in-one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The glossy exterior looks nice but I keep having to dust it. Eventually, I'll start seeing fine scratches in it. Manufacturers need to stop making glossy products. Print quality is good. Scanning documents is fast and I like how you can originate the scan from the printer and send it to any computer with the appropriate software installed on the network. Even though the meter says low ink, it still prints until the ink is completely exhausted. I hated my HP for saying there is no ink and refusing to print even though there was a lot of ink in the cartridge. Wireless setup is wickedly easy. Enable the scan for networks from the printer and press the connectivity button on your router.... done. I did have a problem with my Surace RT seeing the printer if the printer is in wireless mode and went into standby. If the printer is hard wired into the network, the Surface RT had no issues with printing.

Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After many years of using HP products without any company support I decided to switch to Canon since I use their cameras I just got this but I'm impressed with the operation. Installing on a Mac was a snap, including the wireless feature. Entering the wireless password was a bit cumbersome but this should be a one time thing. One installation and it's available on all our computers and mobiles. The instructions on the installation disc could have been clearer on the functions of the front panel buttons. The document feeder works nicely but output requires a bit of tweaking in the control panel for quality PDF files. The document feeder never worked properly on the HP. Double sided scanning is a very nice feature. This was a reason I purchased this printer. Double sided printing was faster than the HP the Pixma replaced. Text quality is very good. I have not assessed the noise yet but there is a quiet setting I haven't investigated. Footprint is not that big, same as the multifunction printer it replaced. It is lower too but cartridge replacements are easy. There is a larger black ink cartridge for text. It's overall design is sleek. Two paper cassettes, one for different size papers. Canon claims it holds 250 sheets. A small cassette is for photo printing and envelopes.I don't like the paper output door flipping open when you print; it makes a startling noise. I'll probably keep it open or open it manually. Only time will tell how sturdy it is but I'm not terribly worried about that considering the cost. Overall I'm pleased. It might make it to five stars if it continues working as nicely over time.

$70 All in One with airPrint too!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just set this up after returning an Epson Ecotank Printer from Costco I bought for $470. I saw this at BestBuy for $69.99 and what a great purchase! The set up was easy. I've tested the wireless print from my macbook and it prints like a charm. Then I rebooted the printer and shared the printer so that I could test it with my photos on my iphone 6S. Airprint works perfect and the prints come out pretty nice! Overall, I'm super happy with my purchase! Wish they didn't give CD's anymore but I have exactly what I need! Thanks Best Buy!

It's really great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer was extremely easy to set-up. It's printing quality is great & has a variety of functions, which all are extremely easy to use. It has a scanner (flatbed & feeder), fax, auto double sided printing, etc. Only 2 things I'd say are that it's quite bulky which isn't that much of problem but it does print very slowly. Overall I am very satisfied with this product!

Stupendous!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this MX922 printer to replace my old old Canon MP560, which ink is getting harder to find at BB and at local Staples. The set-up of the MX922 went extremely well and I downloaded the drivers from Canon's website. Connecting to our home ATT U-Verse Wi-Fi was a breeze! The 4X6 photo printing is as good as Walgreens and FAST! I have not used the scanner portion and sure it will perform as expected. This MX922 printer is for occasional printing and the print quality is what is expected from Canon.

Great Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Canon printer was great. My second one had problems with. But this one I have been impressed with. It is efficient and quiet. It can print both sides of a sheet easily. I have not had any paper jams. I found the drawers where the paper goes is tricky to learn. But I did figure it out. I have not have any problems and I do a lot of printing. The print cartridges are generic so I can get cheap replacements. I would buy this printer again but hopefully in the distant future.

Great Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially I questioned the price vs other models but after the first use I was convinced . Take into account the higher cost of ink but it will more than pay for itself with the quality of work it produces.
