It takes a licking and keeps on ticking/printing

This is by far one of the most reliable printers I've ever owned. I have had it now for 5-1/2 years. There have been minor things happened (dirty heads, wifi connectivity, etc.), but it was all fixable by little ol' me (with the help of manuals and online information. I got it at such a fantastic price too! I just looked it up in case I wanted another one, and it's almost five times the price I paid! I'll just try to keep this one going. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking!!!

    Worked OK while it lasted

I've been a loyal Canon owner for 20 years: cameras, scanners, and printers. I've been happy with their longevity and reliability at a reasonable price point. When my old multifunction Canon printer finally stopped printing I shopped around and decided on the MX922. It was bigger than what I was looking for but had the features I wanted. When installing the drivers it also installed a photo/document management/editing tool that took a couple of minutes to launch and was difficult to navigate. I uninstalled it. I do mostly scanning and the duplex scanning feature worked very well and returned very good quality PDFs. I don't do much printing but while it worked, both simplex and duplex worked well and the print quality was good. I printed 1 picture that came out nicely. After 5 months a paper jammed in the machine on the second pass of duplexing the page. It was normal 20# paper. I followed the manufacturer's online instructions to pull the page from the back access area but the paper still tore off in the machine to the point it required professional service. The paper was so deep in the machine it could not be removed without tearing down the whole machine resulting in a bill that will be more than the cost of buying a new printer. Very disappointing from Canon.

Bought this AIO to replace an old KODAK machine I was having problems with since purchase. The PIXMA is a wholly reliable quick and more quiet printer compared to the KODAK hands down. Wifi set up was a breeze and I love that I can print from tablet or mobile as easily as I could from my laptop and with the great resolution. Initiat start up took a few minutes to update firmware and do internal configuration but once that's done printing even when in "sleep state" is faster than the the old busted KODAK

    Best Inkjet Printer Available

I recently owned the previous version of this model, and it was just okay. I was worried about this one having similar issues. It has no issues whatsoever! If you are looking for a high capacity printer, this one is awesome. Cross that laser printer off the list, because this is the best. Quality is outstanding and it is incredibly fast for an inkjet. I originally wanted a laser SO badly, but I got this, worried, but I realized that Canon was right for me.

    Adequate most of the time

If you don't mind 1) constantly rebooting the printer because the computers can't find it, 2) Waiting 5 minutes for the first page to come out once the printer is found, 3) constantly rebuying ink because the printer is so inefficient with ink Then this printer will get the job done. The overall user experience is clunky, counter-intuitive, and painfully slow, but it is consistent across Macs, Windows, Tablets, and Chromebooks. if it was under $50 I might buy it for the kids as a backup printer, but that's about it.

The printer was a great purchase. The only thing I would change is it should print pictures from any tray instead of a designated tray

BY FAR the worst printer I've ever owned. it's fast when it wants to be otherwise its very slow. it works when it wants to work. i prints out blank sheets of paper all the time, and never connects with my devices it always says unable to find printer when i hooked them up to the same wifi account. thankfully i did get GSP on it and have returned it.... this will be my fourth time getting a new one in a year. RIDICULOUS.

Printer set up is difficult. I have spent 2 hours attempting to setup. Setup correctly but one must go through a certain order. When you power the printer on and off it forgets your wireless info, you have to research it every time. The paper feeder is awkward and jams. The user interface is cumbersome reminds you of an old cellular phone QWERTY keyboard, use 1 key to select 30 options.Just arrows left right top and bottom. Should cost 45 USD top. Assuredly a pain to use. No touch screen option. Requires usb to usb cable and not included one has to figure out where to purchase. Which is a pain. The customer service is in the US and friendly. So 1 star for customer support and JOBS in US. I digress. The printer is recommended. I still have not figured out how to feed and not jam. When jam no info as to the jam, location of jam, just a jam light, computer code is same code and no information. I think this unit is defective. Ugh. Return...........

    Worked For A Month

The short time it worked, the print quality was good. I printed a couple of pics and they looked good. I printed in black and white, nice as well. Then I got an error code and now nothing. I bought this printer because I had went thru 3 previous used or cheap printers. This one sucks even more than my last 3 because it was brand new! Its big and slow also and the ink usage sucks. Do not buy this cheap printer...

    Absolutely Maddening

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had this printer for a little over a year now, after two Epsons died after two years of light use. The Canon MX922 is well priced and does an excellent job of printing -- particularly photos. However, it drives me mad because it seems to be constantly "cleaning" the print mechanism and wasting ink. This morning, I printed one envelop. Before it would print, it spent at least 60 seconds "cleaning." Then it "cleaned" again before I could print the letter accompanying the envelop. Then, it "cleaned" again after the single page letter. I do very little printing and not on a daily basis, yet I go through a lot of ink. If you are frugal or need to print items quickly, this may not be the printer for you. If you are looking for a high quality photo printer and in no hurry with your printing, this could be a good choice. NOTE: Be sure to download the latest printer drivers as I was unable to print photos from the lower tray without it.

Purchased this because it appeared to be similar to another Canon I purchased; I even spent more money; prints slow; makes a lot of noise; I feel like it is always on the verge of breaking down; I would not purchase again.
