Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the PIXMA TR4520's ease of use, print quality, and its affordable price. Many appreciate its wireless functionality and compact size, finding setup straightforward. While some users experienced occasional paper jams and noted the printer could be noisy, the positive feedback on ease of use and print quality outweighs these concerns.

Printer was easy enough to set up - would have preferred the instructions to be a little more detailed but I got there in the end. Installing the driver on my Mac did not match the instructions noted - but again, got there in the end. The printer is also a little on the loud side (comparing it to my previous printer) but I don't use it all that often. Actually printing is also a little finicky in my opinion - the paper tray has to be just such to work. *Only reason I got this printer was because with the most recent Mac update my old printer would no longer work. Needed the Apple Print capability. Having to get rid of a perfectly good printer now.

Print quality isn't as good as my MG7520, but adequate for my current needs. I didn't realize that the paper supply wasn't a drawer (like the 7520) but instead sticks out the front of the unit underneath the paper output, so not sure how dusty my paper is getting. And there's just the one supply, not 2 drawers like the 7520. I like the 2-sided print capability, and the auto-on feature. It connected without any issues to my home WiFi. I'm used to individual ink tanks, so we'll see how things go with just the black and color tank. I did print out a photo from my phone, and print quality of the photo was very good. Print quality on paper, compared to my old 7520, isn't as good or as sharp but will be adequate for my needs now. Not the fastest printer out of the box, but can live with it.

Setting up can be a challenge due to lack of touch screen. Able to print from phone and laptop is a plus but paper gets jammed easily. Image quality is quite good but it takes a bit long to print or copy just one page.

Setup was easy. Print quality is good. I would give it 5 stars if the paper output tray was setup like my old cannon and seemed a bit more robust, but not a big deal. It is replacing a Canon printer that lasted over 10 years.

For the price, this does a lot. Needed something for working at home. The wifi feature is great and the app for the phone works well as well. It's easy to set up and you can send scans right to your phone or send documents from your phone to the printer to print. Ink is reasonably priced. Only thing I would fix would be adding an additional tray for other sized paper and possibly make it bluetooth compatible as well.

Inexpensive. The Paper tray is easily broken, but that just means, don't be rough when handling it. Prints documents and pictures (my main use) that are great. This machine is perfect for my needs, and the ink cost will not drive you into bankruptcy!

    Poorly made with flimsy materials.

Our last Canon printer was purchased in 2008 and only recently died. Although the PIXMA TR4520 scans and prints with no problems, the printer itself is of very poor quality. Where the first PIXMA (MX340) was made of sturdy materials, this one is flimsy and I fear will break before long. The paper tray is thin and difficult to remove to replenish paper and the tray that catches the printed copy is difficult to open all the way. You have to gently coax it out by moving it back and forth due to it being so flimsy and after printing, the paper just shoots right over the top of it and hits the floor. Inserting the printer cartridges is no longer fast and simple either. You have to insert the cartridges at an angle and if you don't align them just right they will not click into place. Overall, I am very disappointed by the lack of quality materials in this printer. I would purchase a Canon again in the future due to the quality of print, but would definitely not purchase this model.

First the pros, for the money it is a good printer, print, copy, fax, scan all for $99 is tough to beat. The cons, the paper tray is somewhat fragile, sitting just below the document holder tray, it is a tight awkward fit, but it works. Also, including a booklet that describes the various features and a detailed description of the control button panel would be a nice touch. Overall, for $99 it is a good buy.

    Good Printer for College

This is a pretty good printer for college. It prints and copies well. A downside is that the paper cannot stay in the tray when the printer is closed. Also, the Value pack for the ink is very hard to come by, this pretty much forces your hand in buying the more expensive Combo pack. I would not recommend this printer if you are looking to print a lot of pages daily.

I wanted this printer to be good after reading the great reviews but in my case there were some big deal breakers with this model. 1. The black cartridge is at 70% after printing 5 sheets of black and white. My paper is cotton but nothing beyond average, so be cautious of toner price. 2. It’s noisy, even with the silent mode on. 3. The setup is a nightmare. I have a Mac and there’s no “economic” mode available, only normal and full-res. On PC is available but also very long installation process. 4. There isn’t a tray to storage paper, so every time you want to print you will have to open the device and lay flat the paper. The only reason I’m not returning it is because there aren’t any other printers available in this price range at the moment. Check out the other HP and Brother brands.

This was easy to set up. I bought it because it was on sale and the price was right. It is significantly louder than our previous printer. It turns off after a while, which might save energy but means you have to go turn it on to print. And I don't like that the paper tray isn't enclosed. I could live with all of those things, but what I came here to warn people about is the ink. The ink didn't last very long and when I went to order more it is out of stock at most places. very frustrating.

Print quality is very good. Paper tray is a little flimsy and would seem prone to breakage after a lot of use. Ink is expensive and has been difficult to get due to shortages. For the money though, very pleased.

This printer replaced my wired printer as I needed wireless. liked my old one, just clicked print. this is a bit to technical have to be sure to push power then have to go through which task you want it to perform, wireless scan etc. which i discovered when it didn't work. I do not like the skimpy paper tray that has to stay out all the time, my other Cannon would close and come out automatically when you want to print. and was sturdier. this throws papers on the floor. will use it but I think its previous reviews were to generous. bought it as printer availability was scarce.

This TR4500 seems to work okay-- it was a little difficult to set up-- not as easy as expected. It is noisier than prior Canon Printer-- and the paper-size sliding tabs are not in a good location--they are very hard to get to-- one can't even see them and you have to reach in with the paper tray upright to move them.
