Wifi Will Not Connect (Eero System)

I have set up many printers before, and I've never had as much trouble as with this one. It took many hours! First, I tried setting the printer up through the provided URL, which was a sort of "installation wizard" on my computer screen. This wizard worked fine until it came to connecting to wifi: the printer found the network, but, time and again, wouldn't accept the password. I do have an Eero/mesh system, so maybe this is the problem. That said, I did turn off the 5G function for purposes of connecting the printer, and that still didn't work. Next, I tried connecting to the network from the printer itself, through its setup menu. This was working wonderfully, until it came to the password, which has a combination of upper and lowercase, numbers, and a symbol. I was able to figure out how to toggle between upper and lowercase on the printer's keypad, so I could input all the letters. However, I could never figure out how to input numbers, and the symbol menu only contained about four symbols (not the one I needed). Then, I tried connecting via my smartphone. I had to add a QR-Reader app first and then I had to sign up to some sort of free service, which still required my credit card number. After doing all of this, I nevertheless could not connect the printer in this manner. Finally, I gave up and decided to connect the printer with a cable. No cable had been provided, but I still had a cable from an old printer. This is the only way I could connect the printer. Then, to be able to scan, I had to download another app. There was an error message doing this, but when I tried to actually scan, it did work, so I guess it's all functional at this point, many hours and much frustration later.

The overall time it took for the products to arrive was within a reasonable amount of time. Although a slight delay did happen it was only a day late which was no big deal at all.

This printer is very easy to set up and use. I use it mainly for printing and scanning documents and pictures and it does a very good job at this. It is not a very fast printer but it is adequate for my needs. It is a great printer for the price.

Good printer overall. Wireless hookup more involved than previous wireless printers that I have had.

HORRIBLE ink usage for high quality OEM cartridge!

I’m sorry this printer is just crap. I mean it prints very well, however the ink detection method is absolute crap. It complains that the ink is low even after 30 pages on a new cartridge. I can literally watch it drop. We printed ONE full page color photo and it dropped by 1/6 on color and black. We got the genuine canon cartridges. I used to have an HP with the same size carts that printed almost as good and the machine would print until the ink was dry. This printer is deceptive, ink monitoring should just be removed as a feature

This printer is nothing but problems, and it is nothing but pure junk. It does NOT come with an owner's manual you had to look up the owner's manual online. I did call customer service and spent at least a half hour on the phone, and when I did get it to print the paper would get jammed into the unit I did manage to get the paper out the first time it gotten jammed, but the second time I couldn't get the paper back out. I got so mad I returned the printer.

    Photo print quality

Color ink quality is very light when printing photos, even when using quality paper and the required ink product -- no matter how dark a setting I use. Disappointing. Otherwise prints just fine for everyday use. The inclusion of an easy-to-use instruction booklet would have been very helpful.

One of the most capable little printers I ever bought. Especially like the self feed scanner and the print on both sides without removing the paper and reversing it.

I’ve had it for a short while but it seems to work just fine. I hope cartridges won’t require a mortgage and that it will be easy to replace them.

This printer will jam for no reason. I am the only one that uses it, therefore, I know that it isn't being damaged. So, the fact that I have to troubleshoot it for paper jams and blurred printing, is just a waste. It could be tht my printer is defective, either way, im not willing to buy this thing again. I was fortunate enough to buy the hunk of junk for a sale price of $75, but never again will I buy this model

It's very slow printing and with no backlight on the screen, it can make it very hard. Also, Going through ink at a much higher rate than I expected.

Defective printer, BB selling broken units as new

The first printer I purchased from Best Buys was a broken and repackaged unit sold at full price as new. It immediately gave a repair code indicating it was broken. A total waste of time and money. Best Buys is repackaging broken units and selling them as new. This printer says the paper tray is empty when it is properly filled and adjusted. Totally unacceptable. The ink is Very expensive and if the printer was given away for free, the ink purchase would still make a profit for the manufacturer. I cannot recommend the printer or Best Buys in any way.

My other Canon gave up after just 2.5 years, so we got this one. I use it for work 75-80% so don't need fancy. Such a disappointing machine! There is no manual that comes with it. Had to google how to change the keypad to numbers (it's the "tone" button btw). The keypad and face are very small and hard to read. Changing the wifi was/is a nightmare. Keep having to forward and hit ok. Then when it finally says "connected", there is no way out of that setting? It just sits there and waits. Continuing scrolling through a fax setup option, etc., which I don't need doesn't help. Still won't print. Will have to buy a cable to keep using this. This is our last Canon for sure!
