    Cheap product-DO NOT BUY

Had this printer less than a year and it broke. The paper kept getting jammed and now it will not work at all. This is the second time a printer has broke within a year. Always seem to happen when I just buy printer ink. Now I cannot even use that!

    Do not buy

I do not normally write negative reviews - but feel I must with this item. DO NOT BUY this printer. Don't take my word for it, go to the Canon site and read about all the possible issues you'll have with this printer. Everyone reports the same issues and frustrations. I bought TR4720 on November 3, 2023 and it had completely quit working before Thanksgiving. Attempts to contact Canon to have issues resolved just created more headaches. It's difficult to set up. Takes forever and has a million unnecessary steps. It jams easily. It quits working over wireless, Will not recognize your network at all after you've reset it for the third time. And will not allow USB set up so you can at least plug it in. Even after deleting the initial wireless driver and reinstalling so you can select USB instead of wireless. Eats ink - I've printed a total of 50 pages and already had to replace the ink once. This product is a complete waste of your time and money.

The worst electronic i've ever owned

This printer is practically useless. The fact that they sell this is borderline criminal. I cannot tell you how much stress this "printer" has caused me. I purchased it because it was a nice looking printer.. boy was that a mistake. DO NOT BUY THIS. It only works 10% of the time. It gets lost/disconnected constantly. You have to hold the paper in place when it's printing or else it will not be able to pull in paper. The paper jams almost every single time you print (if you can get it to actually start printing!). The display is trash. Doing anything using the display is so long and so complicated. Do not try to enter your wifi password on the display (this will take at least 2 hours to do and will often fail).

Try another Canon model - this one sucks bigtime.

Extremely poor online setup instructions, particularly for wi-fi setup. Ink cartridges sent (they say “setup only”) lasted 24 hours, so be sure to pick up a couple of real ink cartridges. Very poor user interface, Buttons not user-friendly and difficult to figure out how to use - pressing once doesn’t work on all modes. Ridiculous.

NOT good for wireless printing. Connectivity prob

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Connecting a wireless printer has always been a snap in the past. It's pretty easy. Not with this printer. My son is PC savvy, he builds computers from scratch and knows their operating systems inside and out. After wasting many hours on this printer, he finally announced that they didn't do their job of ensuring that this printer will connect wirelessly. It will not connect. Ever optimistic, We tried to connect it to our two Mac computers with a family member who knows Macs inside and out, four hours later, he came to the same conclusion. He said this printer isn't compatible with Mac (see other reviews...Mac won't recognize it, Canon didn't bother making a driver for this printer, the printer won't recognize the wifi network, it goes on and on...) Finally came to same conclusion that other users have: this is an inferior product with extremely poorly designed wifi connectivity interface. Returning for a real wireless printer. Not this Canon junk.

    Worst printer I've ever owned

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've dealt with my fair share of printers over the years, but this one? Absolute nightmare! You'd think a big name like Canon would mean something, but nope, this thing is a total disaster. Despite throwing in new cartridges, cleaning it till it shone, and recalibrating it more times than I can count, it just wouldn't print right. Blows my mind how a modern printer can't even handle a simple image without messing it up. Even the printers from the 90s were leagues better than this piece of junk. Seriously, save yourself the headache and steer clear of this one. It's just not worth it!

Not the Right Machine for Me

Compact machine that will only print 8-1/2" x 11" paper and A-4 envelopes. The paper drawer looked like it would work with my 4" x 6" sheets (and the sales clerk said it would) but that was not the case. I gave it to my daughter.

CANON PIXMA TR4720 PRINTER - NOT RECOMMENDED 3/24

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the worst printer that I have purchased. The printer constantly goes "offline" sporadically. This requires re-installing the printer constantly. The installation process is easy, but I should not need to continually re-install the printer even when I have printed previous documents on the same day. I am very disappointed with this product. I would return it, but I have already set up and purchased an ink supply. I would not recommend canon printers, since I am frustrated and annoyed with this product.

    Throw it out the window!!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I nevver wanted to throw something through the window so bad before having purchasing this printer!!!! The printing on it was not that horrible, very slow and loud but at minimum did the job it was intended to do. The scanner is by far the worst! Both in the top tray and on the glass scanning is dreadful. Put 5 sheets in the tray to scan, hit scan, "please wait a while" appears, starts to scan the first page and then stops midway giving a notification on the computer that the scanner has disconnected or turned off. Retry again. Same thing. Half an hour later messing with the shotty plastic to make it work, 4 of the 5 pages scanned. Numerous times the scanner disconnected or would just go back to its main screen. If you are needing something important done in a timely manner, save yourself the trouble and headache and move on.

Frustrating time with the paper feeder

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I should have read the product reviews before buying this printer. The paper feeder was defective. No matter how many times I tried to print a test page, the sheet crumpled up as it loaded from the paper tray. I kept trying to line it up to go in straight, and it went in crooked and jammed every time. It’s a shame, because the printer was easy to set up and install, but there are a LOT of YouTube videos showing “what to do if your Canon Pixma printer paper jams.” The biggest problem is that there are no sliding adjustable alignment pegs in the tray to hold the paper in place before it’s pulled in by the rollers.

    DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Canon makes the worst printers on the market. Not user friendly or easy to set up. I had to download a whole program for the sole purpose of connecting to this trash printer. When I finally got connected, it acted like it was printing just for the piece of paper to come out completely blank. Waste of money.

    Won't scan; Useless Junk!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Absolute junk. Won't scan 5 sheets of paper before "failing to scan." It's supposed to scan up to 35 sheets at once. Every time I scan the paper goes in crooked and scans Sideways. I have important medical documents to scan to send to my lawyer that I can't scan. There's 88 sheets! And this printer can't even scan 5 without an error. Apparently it's due to a tiny spring inside of it not being strong enough. You can modify it to make it work, but I shouldn't have to modify a brand new printer so it will work. Worse than Epson printers. Do not buy this piece of garbage!

Stay Away - Ink fails every 3 prints and is a joke

    Posted .

Biggest piece of garbage that No one should ever buy. This is by far the biggest "Rip-off" style printer. Always tries to print with all colors and not let you print black unless you select every time. Cannon uses this printer to only get you to buy more ink cartridges that only last literally 15-to 20 prints of black. Scumbag company I threw it out the window where it belongs.
