Ignorant tech finds perfect printer

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During setup I discovered that it apparently will not connect directly to a computer with a USB cable, you need to use wi-fi and the internet to setup. After setting up wi-fi I can print without being on the internet, just using my wireless router to connect to my computer. Only used for basic copying and printing so far and I like this printer. My previous printer was a Kodak 5300, which I liked a lot until it self-destructed right when I really needed a printer and Kodak removed all support software from their website, no longer a fan of anything Kodak.

NOTE: There is NO way to wire it externally to your device, it's strictly wireless. Now it works fine. Also, I had a hard time figuring out how to get the paper tray open to load it, but once I figured it out, it does close all the way, so the paper doesn't get dusty.

It copies well. The machine takes a long time to get through all its internal steps before it prints anything, making all sorts of mechanical sounds. Weird! However, if it continues to do what we need it to do, we won't complain.

Takes a long time to start when it turns on, and it turns itself off rather than going to sleep when it is idle, so I need to turn it on almost every time I use it.

I asked the sales person who helped me choose the printer I needed and he assured me this unit will scan documents to be emailed. What he didn't tell me is that have to download the software and install it on the printer for scanning. I have tried the download with no success.
