I just don't even know anymore!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this printer when it first came out. I really enjoyed it. It was easy to set up and easy to use. Where it all goes down hill is in the ink department. It came with a small amount of start up ink...because after all whats a new/any printer without ink? It made lovely pictures that I made for gifts. When I needed refills for it I was really unhappy with the price of it. I shopped around but because Canon does the pricing...the stores really can not do much with sales. The printer was only a few months old and still under warranty so I didn't want to buy aftermarket cartridges. I also didn't want to have to keep buying new ink and decided that buying the XL cartridges was the best option price wise and longevity wise. Yeah well.......NO!! I tried to be conscious of my usage so I could get a fair idea of how long they last. I had no occasion to use the color ink so I made sure to always hit the black ink only button thinking I was saving the color ink for when I really wanted it. Yet somehow the ink levels kept depleting??? So then when I really wanted to use the color ink....it ran out after just a few prints. So either it was still somehow using the color ink when I thought I was only using black ink or it evaporated!! Bottom line? Almost $120.00 worth of ink GONE....NEVER USED!! Now in 2020 you can buy this printer for the same price as a set of new XL ink cartridges....which I personally happen to find disgraceful. Especially knowing that if you don't always have the occasion to use it...you lose it. So now I have purchased a refill kit. And THAT is a whole new set of headaches all together!! This review wants to know if I would recommend this printer to a friend. I WOULD recommend it to a friend who will be using the color ink regularly and can afford to spend $120.00 on a regular basis. I don't have many friends who who fit either of those descriptions.

Nice Printer Great features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to Best buy looking for s quality AIO printer on Black Friday. After reading numerous reviews I decided on buying the Canon TR8520 This printer is incredible. The colors and clarity of pictures are excellent I copied numerous documents without any problems. My favorite feature allows you to automatically turn the printer on send/copy pictures while your away from home ( turn on wifi and location, turned on Bluetooth pair with printer put in code from screen. the first time printer has to be on with you there, just follow the instructions) then it will automaticallyshut off. ( With printer on, go to economy settings on screen, pick time after inactive you want & it to shut off. To connect this printer with your computer, go to U tube search bar type Canon tr8520. There you'll find professional reviews on how to connect to PC. They talk fast so pause the video, write steps, etc. I hope this review helps people having problems in these areas. Really happy with this purchase for 69$ ? Wow !!!

Love the photo printing/scanning.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a college student, I find the printer to be very powerful for printing large amounts of paperwork. The scanner is amazing. I fill out lots of diagrams that I like to study from in my computer and the process of scanning/transporting into my laptop is not as time-consuming as my old printer. Setting up the printer wasn't too hard it was well explained in the direction. But I did run into a bit of a hard time when connecting the printer to my smartphone. It prints out very clear and great picture from my phone. If there was anything I would change on this printer it would be its style. I feel like it's very office/ box looking and would want to look more modern.

Rear paper feed + lower, ADF, Fax, small footprint
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need the rear paper feed to drop in single blank checks, small paper, stiff paper, etc. - items that need to move through a straight feeder. The rear paper feeder also makes it very easy to insert a bunch of paper I've already used on one side, or quickly grab and change to new paper - don't have to deal with the bottom cassette tray on this printer, which is VERY flimsy! That being said, I do love that it DOES have the bottom paper tray so that I can put the good paper there for business use, and only use the rear feed for everyday use. The ADF (Auto Document Feeder) is also very important to me and seems to be working well so far. The fax was a must for me. I don't have a land line so I use Magic Jack for a VOIP line. The Magic Jack device has the cord inputs that I use to connect to the printer & answering machine via regular phone cords. I use the scanner a lot to attach receipts to transactions in Quicken. I was not able to do this from the Quicken program when I initially setup the printer via Ethernet wire. I attached a USB cord from the computer to the printer and was then able to scan from the Quicken program. That created a problem printing from the cell phone with the Canon App. I was able to like my cell phone to the printer by Bluetooth, but have not tested that yet, The Printer instructions state that USB and LAN CAN be used at the same time, but Wireless LAN and wired LAN CANNOT be used at the same time. If someone could help me with that I would appreciate it ;) Hate that the front panel has to be manually raised - can't see it then and feels flimsy. Front paper receiver is very flimsy and too short for a standard 11" paper without curling.

Great home office printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is versatile and great for my home office. I'm able to scan, copy and print documents easily, and it's been reliable with no paper jams so far. The build quality is fair, its a light plastic, making it a light printer and pretty compact, not a large or heavy printer at all, so its easy to move it around in any space. I would have liked to see better build material and aesthetic, but the build and shape are fair. Set up was easy, the screen prompts visual instructions that were easy to follow, ink cartridges could become tricky if the orange cap inst opened slowly. I'm very happy with this printer, I'm able to have a compact printer with many qualities including wireless connectivity. I'm able to accomplish many tasks that would require scanning, copying and printing. I would recommend this printer for anyone looking for a printer for their home office or home.

Excellent product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Text printing is excellent. The paper is held flat and is supported. The color touch screen is easy to use and makes it very convenient to program. Double sided printing works great flawlessly. Photo printing worked well too. Rich colors with no visible defects. The camera supports WIFI and printed without problem from both my Windows 10 laptop. Great printer. Easy to set up, including the wireless options. Have been using it for weeks and love it. Speed is fine for a home printer for single copies of most things. Scanner works great.

Great for Work From Home Office
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work from home and have been looking to replace my printer for a while. The Canon TR8250 is an awesome upgrade! It feels like a smaller compact version of the type of technology I would have access to working in a full blown office. The mobile device printing is a life changer. Quality of printing and photos are definitely good from both mobile and computer. Overall I feel like I am getting a great value for the functions and most importantly the convenience of an all in one device. Before buying I read that ink cartridges are expensive to replace, but then saw some good deals on replacement cartriges from various websites. Because everything prints so crisp, it is totally going to be worth it. I've already started telling all my colleagues who have home offices to check this printer out!!
