    Horrible Software

The software for this printer is the worst. Run far away from this printer. The interface is very sketchy. Too bad! Sometimes I have to scan 3 times to get it to work. Very often after I have deleted scanned items from the "Image Garden" (ridiculous name), images magically re-appear next time I scan an item. I am way too busy to deal with the shortcomings of this piece of garbage. As soon as I am done paying this thing off I will be looking for a replacement.

Worst Printer Ever ... don't buy

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Beware of reviews ... this printer is unbelievably cheap and flimsy. You can't even get it to start because the power cord does not seat into the printer so if it moves ever so slightly the printer loses power. This printer is so bad that it makes me wonder if the reviews are authentic.

    DO NOT BUY

I have struggled with the TR8520 for almost a year now and am glad it finally crashed as I often wanted to take a baseball bat to this piece of junk. Why? It is very slow, requiring several minutes to accept and process every command. It is loud, the internal grinding noises are insane, like fingernails on a chalkboard with every use. It sucks ink cartridges like the NFL consumes Gatorade! Additionally, the software does not function smoothly using a wired or wireless connection.

    Poor quality color printing

I purchased this printer quickly, when quarantine began in 2020. I've had many of the most popular inkjet printer brands over the years. This is by far, my least favorite and of the lowest color print quality I've ever experienced. Additionally, the paper tray is ridiculously awkward and the small cover falls off and into the floor all the time. To add paper, you have to push the collecting tray back into the printer. I'm looking for a new printer.

Unavailable on Wi-Fi is it's only consistency

    Posted .

Like a minor toothache, this printer's only consistency is its failed print jobs and unavailability problems in Windows 10 & 11 on Wi-Fi. Most of the time after running the Windows troubleshooter a few times I can get it to work, or sometimes I have to re-run the installer, but this has gotten so old over the years I cringe when I know I have to print something. The battle begins again.

Cheap plastic, paper tray thin plastic, fold out touch screen no physical support. Programs confusing. I have using computers/printers for 20 yrs and this took me 3 hours from delivery to working (?) Condition. If this is cannons best I hate to see the basic model

Can't get it to talk to printer

I purchased this TODAY which is an upgrade from one that I currently have. When I went to set it up it would connect to my wifi and not my computerS (desktop and laptop). I called Best Buy Geek Squad who was NO help and wanted to charge me more than I paid for the printer to help. After THREE hours of trying to set it up I threw it back in the box and will be returning it and finding another company that will stand behind the products that they sell!!

    Terrible printer

Do not buy this printer. I have had it for 2 months and every time I go to print the printer disconnects from the laptop and home computer. I work from home so I spend at least 30 minutes and sometime 2 hours reconnecting it. When I called Best Buy to return it they said I passed my 30 days and was not aloud to return to them. Terrible printer do not buy this ever!!!

    Loved it at first!

I was so happy with this printer at first. Now it has started to give me problems. I have to shut down and restart the printer to get it to work. If I ask it to print two documents, I have to shut it down between them. So very frustrating! I've used Canon printers for years, but I think I'm going to try a different brand.

I bought this printer at a very discounted price at Best Buy. I was so exited because I was upgrading from a brother printer that I had used for 6 years. This canon is horrible. I can't print wirelessly consistently. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't. I called customer support and the guy had no clue how to help. I will be going back to brother printer

"Printer Not Responding" error with Win7

works with USB only. Will not work on my network wired or WiFi. Gives a "Printer Not Responding" error. Scan works, Win7 can see it on the network, can Ping it, but it will NOT print. Works on my Win10 computer, but after multiple setting changes still will not work on my Win7 computer. Canon Support hours are M-F day time only.

Didn’t last me one year. The black ink started leaking inside the printer and damage the internal of it. Was trying to print but sheets came out blank. But ink was going down. When I looked inside, ink was all over the inside.

Is not compatible with popular devices...

Is not compatible with popular devices, don't waste your time on cannon printers. Replacement ink rediculously expensive compared to other brands. Also, a very intrusive and annoying company, they'll bombard your cell phone with promotional texts that are intentionally very hard to block.

Won't print, it wants to send a fax

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Won't print from Yahoo Mail, Ebay, you name it. You set up to print and the Fax Contact list pops up. No way around it. You have to paste stuff into Word and print that. A waste of money. And ink almost half gone after printing a dozen pages.

After 3 phone calls with Canon and hours of wasted time, I have been told that this model of printer does not work with my apple laptop. Canon says it is Apple's fault and they cannot help. Into the trash it goes. What a disappointment.

As with all printers, another pile of garbage that barely does the sole function it is designed to do.
