We wanted a basic printer to use in our den to print receipts for on-line orders so that we didn’t need to walk to our office to get the copy. This Cannon should fit the bill. It was easy to set up and connected easily to our WiFi. We were directed to the on-line instructions to complete set-up and download the APP. I prefer to have the ability to download my manual and keep it on my laptop or tablet. We were able to start printing right away. I chose to print a photograph first, and used the provided cannon photo paper. The picture printed beautifully, maintaining sharp detail and accurate color. Sadly, printing is very slow, both photos and documents. I set the print to double sided and outside the app, directly from my email it worked perfectly. I also chose draft mode on the second document print, and of course it prints much faster. The printer came with small capacity black and color ink cartridges. I just checked the ink level, with only a few documents and two pictures, the ink level was noticeably lower. That is a bit concerning since we don’t want to have to buy a lot of ink. The good news is that the printer works well with both Apple and Android devices as well as my Windows laptop. All and all, if the ink is available and affordable when it comes time to buy more I think the printer will do exactly what we need, only time will tell the whole story. If you need a small, basic home printer this should suit you well.

First let me say I've used Canon printers as my primary printers for the better part of 20 years, SO this may be a bit biased as I'm sold on them. That being said let start with the pros - print quality is outstanding compared to other in the market in this price range - not the best but don't think your going to find better in this range. Easy of use - again I'm in the Canon eco system so all the software is know - if your not might take a little learning curve. Set up absolutely no issues with PC and Windows 11, I didn't do a full install on MAC OS however was able to pick it up on wifi pretty easy. Footprint - small footprint will fit about anywhere, there are smaller out there but not by much. Print seed - it seem to be as fast as any other the other prints I have if not fasted. Cost of ink - first I have to say that I did not use a full cartridge to get the number of sheets it yields I just know the the replacement cartridges are price in line with other in the market. Over all great printer for the money. There are a few thing I didn't like but no show stopers. The first is the display is tiny, a larger display would of been nice however you can get all the info you need. The software was individual install to get the full canon suite - this used to install automatically during the install process. The install process now contains i bare bones app, it does the basics of print and scan however you have to do separate install for photo editing and print adjustment and anything other that basic scanning- they easy to find from the additional page in the app however guess I didn't want to have to look. Over all I would highly recommend this printer.

Easy setup. Connection to Wi-Fi was very quick using the app, which I already used with another Canon printer. That may have made it easier for me but I wouldn’t expect it be any harder for first time users. Once set up, printing from my phone or laptop couldn’t be easier. The LCD screen is very small, but it serves its function well. After it is set up, I mostly use make changes through my computer or phone. The screen is there just to help with manual set up or display basic information Photos looked nice but darker than I would expect. Using the other Canon printer, the same photos came out with a more natural look. No deal breaker but I like pointing out differences, especially because I would not use it for professional photos. I own a Canon DSLR and am used to printing lots of pictures. My eyes are trained to spot this type of detail. But for day-to-day family pictures, I would use it without worries. It’s not bad, just darker. Just be sure to use Canon photo paper. I’ve noticed a huge difference in quality when using papers from other brands, and vice versa. My recommendation is to always use photos from the same brand as your printer. Text printing is simply excellent, albeit slow. Scanning is easy and the quality is also good. A common theme here is slowness. What I mean is that it is not as fast as some bigger models, but nothing to sneeze at. It fit perfectly in the smaller home office used by my partner. It is a compact printer that doesn’t take much space and that was what she liked the most. Her desk looks roomier after we moved the bigger printer to use this Canon PIXMA TS6420a.

Owned previous Canon printers and this one was such a disappointment from the beginning. A lot of cheap plastic parts. First the feeder tray on the button quit working and then started having issues with the top feeder tray, very noisy and got worst.
