Good so far...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated to buy another Canon printer - the last one I had lasted about 3 years...then quit. My HP, before the Canon Pixma, lasted 15+ years. Hmm. But, I did buy another as it is what I knew best tech-wise...and I was in a hurry... So far the printer, scanner, works well enough. I find from a design point it is a strange contraption. Little doors need to pop out to work and paper drawers are a struggle to push in pull out, flimsy plastic covers on the the paper drawer, not sure why its there. All in all it seems like flimsy machine. But, I like that it is small, does not take up much room on my desk, has clean lines, prints well enough in color for my home use. Scanning is easy. (My other Pixma was gorgeous in design, even though it didn't last long - I am an artist - good looking design, durability, and function is really important to me...Canon!) The test will be how long it lasts. I will begin my research now for the next printer. If this Pixma does not tow the line and give me years of output, this will be my last Canon printer. Crossing fingers.

Good price, easy set up
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printer works as intended. Replaced an aged Canon with a print head error. Set up was fairly quick out of box, just need to follow the directions! Prints fast and quietly. Smaller footprint than previous model. Now able to print from devices via AirPrint.

Great compact printer, easy to jam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We haven't used this printed a ton, but it offers the same features as our old printer in a much smaller footprint. It communicates, prints fast and with good quality. However, we have had a few issues with paper jams.

Nice printer for under $70.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice little all in one. Install and connection to wifi was easy. Big screen for easy operation. Compact. Scanner offers higher resolution than many other printers. The addition of the photo blue ink makes for very nice, colorful photos. The two negatives are expensive ink, which is the norm for any brand, and this printer is ink hungry. Canon's one flaw with their printers is that they use a lot of ink, especially in maintenance functions, comapred to other brands.

Nice printing; software is touchy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it's printing, it does a very nice job. More than once, though, in the short time since I've owned it, it has gotten stuck on an error code, which can only be really read via scanning a code. An example is once when i tried printing something a smaller size than my usual 8-1/2 x 11 using the back-of-printer paper feeder. It didn't work out, but instead of allowing me to just go back and cancel the print job, I finally had to put 8-1/2 x 11 paper in the back feeder to allow it to print. Then it tended to want to continue feeding from the back feeder. it hangs on to problems without allowing you to cancel the print job and starting afresh.

Great value on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At standard retail price I likely would skip this but it was at a third of retail out the door. I heavily studied reviews for a quality photo printer that could print work documents also. I wanted decent ink prices but I have used 3rd party ink with great results in past. I didn’t care by what means I could get the ink prices down. Photo quality, borderless printing, and ability for multiple paper sizes were required. I struggled with max size but I’ve had a tabloid size photo printer before and never printed over an 8x10. I only cared about printing - not scanning etc. Paper tray feeding for 4x6 was a plus. Ink tanks are what I researched first but I couldn’t make sense of it since refilling a cartridge isn’t scary to me. The convenience would be great but the nearest comparable canon ink tank would be about ten times the price. For that price difference I can buy about 6 ink refill kits. Also, the quality of photos take a hit although there are likely some soon to hit market that will be at same level. The price sounds crazy high though. Epson prices are a bit lower but the last $300 Epson lasted about 18 months before the heads started clogging. Time will tell, but canons have a better reputation for hardware longevity. Oddly enough, this printer has lower print resolution against comparable Inkjets but higher ratings for photo output quality. It’s cost per page is average to higher than average at pricepoint but with the sale it’ll be much better upfront. Canons ink cartridges have chips that present errors of refilled but the error is easily removed so refilling with 3rd party is easy without a chip resetter. It does lose the ability to track cartridge ink levels once the error is bypassed. I’m completely fine with that since this scores near highest picture print quality for the tier printer it is. Brother reviews show a step behind the pack. In comparisons, canon photos are not as water resistant as Epson ink on Epson paper. I am not testing that, but reviews online have shown that on other models. Personally I don’t get why that matters - I’ll print a new photo if one gets wet. For low volume printing this makes sense in every aspect. If it dies in a year, I’ll be extremely happy it was so cheap - a big concern with ink tanks since I’ve not had great longevity thus far. If 3rd party ink is an option and letter size max is okay, I could find no better options for anywhere close to the price.

Canon PIXMA printer.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good size. Lots of features. Automatic double side printing. Good quality print. Controls a little confusing. When turned off for a long time, does not hook up to a device the first time, need to redo, don’t know why. Ink less expensive than some.

Great printer so far
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is easy to set up which is a plus. Documents print fast in black and white. I don’t love the look of this printer. It looks outdated and inexpensive. I haven’t had the chance to print colorful pictures yet but i read the reviews and this one was rated high on color quality. Overall I’m satisfied with this purchase.

Great so far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve only had it for about a month, bur so far so good. It prints fast and clean. Ink is easy to install and I like the separate color cartridges. The only con so far is that the front cover on the paper tray has to be taken off and put back on to access the paper. It would be better if it folded down instead.

so far so good
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a great price for Christmas and the print quality is good. The front opens up in a interesting way to feed the paper out and I am a bit worried about the durability here. Loading the paper is not as easy as I would like. Colored ink that came with it is going fast.

Pretty good printer for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fast and prints with high quality. Easy to use. The printer itself feels flimsy and cheaply made, but the inner workings of it are excellent. Easily connects to both wi-fi and direct attach printer cables.

Nice machine for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good all-in-one multi-purpose printer/copier/scanner. If it has a fault, it is hard to load paper without a bit of a struggle to slide the tray out from the bottom. Otherwise, the quality is pretty good.

Good Basic Printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately I had to replace a reliable Pixma MP160 that lasted for so many years. I've had this TS 8220 for about 4 months, it prints & scans fine and is sufficient for general use. CONS: The front panel screen must be opened up and down, seems like there could be a better design for that. The paper tray is flimsy, cheapy plastic and holds a minimal amount of paper (100 sheets I think), about half of what my previous printer held, so you have to replace that often. The cartridges are double the price (generic) than older Pixma, but it's a plus that it accepts generic cartridges where I have read that some HP & Epson brands do not.
