This camera is especially easy to use for everyone who had a Canon camera before. Nothing changed much when it comes to menu and functions. Really good quality pictures and nice extra effects.

    Short on Easy Use

Problems: Have to remove the battery to charge it. Takes 2.5" hours to charge battery. Charge doesn't last long enough. No touch screen. WiFi didn't work - which is a problem with my firewall, but only way to upload photos was removing the SD card. Not very good up close focus Pro: Light Weight Best Buy made it easy to return this. Cash Back - no questions asked. Thank you!

    Don't Buy

Well, my last Canon was a great camera, had over 10,000 pics on it,I wore it out Needed to replace it . I go to car shows every week and shoot an average of a couple of hundred pics per show. This one , first time using it had problems seeing screen (even after brightening up the screen), the second time using it I noticed the screen had lines on it , by the end of the day there were lines all over the screen, I did buy 3 yr. extra warranty , and was told by sales person, if something happened they would replace camera, nothing was said about fixing it! took it in today (only 1 month old today) and was told they would have to send it out(2 to 3 weeks) and that they would most likely have to replace it anyway, Was told I could buy another one until they figure out what they are going to do.Now I'm in the middle of car show season with no camera So instead of doing the right thing and exchanging the camera , they have lost me as a customer forever, I wll never buy anything from Best Buy again

    Wifi capabilities!

The camera is okay for the price! I pretty much baught it because it uses wifi and I baught the canon selphy printer! It's user friendly and you can send pics from camera to printer or cell phone from camera! Not the best quality pic! I think an iphone6 takes better pictures.

    great night time pics

I love this camera for night time pictures. It does better than my SLR. The one aspect I don't like is it is hard to adjust the closeness and it is easy to get too close or too far away.

Image clarity is terrible, old processor

The image clarity/detail is absolutely terrible, this is the 340 yet the processor is older than the one on the 330. You can't crop or enlarge the images because the data isn't there..the image just pixelates. Very poor image quality. Colors are also washed out. I went on vacation and on day one I immediately noticed something wrong with the images. Also the battery does not last very long, only a few hours. I just now bought a Sony Cybershot as a replacement, not sure what I'm going to do with this canon paperweight.

    nice small camera

I like the camera in that it is easy to use, but what I like best about it is its ability to take great pictures, even in low light situations that my SLR did not do well with. It is a little difficult to set the size of the picture and it would easily go too big or too small.

    Great camera! Compact!

I love my Canon camera. I have an Olympus camera with multiple size lenses but sometimes it is just not small enough to take with me. I bought this camera for a trip to DC and I got some great pictures. So happy I bought it.

    Lens Unreliable

I've owned three of the Elphs and the last two have had lens failures! The first 2 megapixel camera worked great and I loved it. That's why I upgraded the pixel count. The new versions seem to have some sort of problem with the lens moving in and out. I thought it was me when I replaced camera #2 with #3, but am now convinced it's a manufacturer's issue. I'll replace mine with a competitor shortly.

BIG step down in quality from 310 series

This is the first review I've ever written for anything --I am motivated to share with everyone how disappointing this camera is. I had years of excellent pictures with the elph310hs and this 340hs was billed as an updated model--so I assumed it would be at least of the same quality if not better. Definitely not. Washed out grainy pictures, slower processor and cheap plastic outer shell compared to our 3+ year old 310 hs. I will be immediately returning it to best buy and will think twice about canon cameras in the future now. I suspect the many positive reviews are from people who have nothing to compare it to.

As stated above. Absolutely horrible picture quality. Very grainy no matter what setting or function it is set to..just returned it for the $79 elph 115c.10x better .No grainy pixelated pictures like this model. Sometimes you look at 1 review and say ,well, that's just one. but save your money, Don't buy this high priced junk!. Get the cheaper model that's so much better.Canon really dropped the ball on these newer so called better model upgrade point and shoots.
