Didn't hold up underwater when I flipped over in Beach on a Kayak. . . But hey, I'm getting things better protected on water proof protection cases now. The lens is still very sturdy.

Lens repair vs replacement

If they fail, they are replaced by Bestbuy. A repair of this lens from Canon is 125.00.min plus shipping and handling. Retired photo tech.
