I purchased this lens to pair with my R5, when I don’t want or need to drag along my bigger RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L Lens. It does a great job and the size is perfect.

The nifty 50. How anyone could ever live without this lens baffles me. I'm glad that Canon came out with an inexpensive standard prime lens to complement their new mirrorless series. I've been using mine primarily at f/8 and it is every bit as good or better than the EF equivalent.

It’s a good lens. It’s just not the quality I’d expect from a Canon product. The lens is functional and easy to use and attach to the camera.

Excellent quality. Beautiful images. My only complaint is the STM does not focus as fast as USM. But would it be worth an additional $2800 for the 50mm 1.2 because it has faster focus? Probably not, maybe if you are a professional that charges high dollar.

High quality superb lens!!!!!!!! This little guy is great. The autofocus is fast and the new control ring is a huge bonus. It’s not that much of a difference from the original EF canon 50mm 1.8 but it’s great to mount on my canon eos R6 without the adapter. Love it!!!

This is a great basic lens to have for any level of photographer. It is still the only lens I have right now, but it works fine for what I do. I mainly shoot dog photos at events for fun, and I always still get great photos.
