Customers commend the RF50mm F1.8 STM lens for its superb image quality, reasonable price, and great aperture. Its compact size, light weight, and ease of use are also appreciated. However, some customers have noted the presence of chromatic aberration in photos and a small amount of noise during video recording.

I love this lens. Better than the 35 macro lens in my opinion (for portraits). Very compact and light.

This is an excellent must have lens to keep in your bag. I had the original EF lens for my 7D and loved it. I have only used this once so far but it does not disappoint for the price.

I love it when using it at Black Mountain, NC and NC Zoo. Most photos came out great. They are crisp and sharp. 50 mm lens challenged me to take photos. I could take three or four photos at the same setting and put them in panorama in Lightroom. I learned much on how to use 50 mm lens. For me, it is worth it.

Got really good portraits with it and the 1.8 minimum aperture is really good and creates a natural bokeh effect

Canon keeps putting out these great inexpensive "nifty fifty" lens and they are hard to beat. The RF version is no different. I've owned (and currently still do) about all of these 1.8 50mm and they simply just get the job done. Image quality is great. Build quality on the RF is better than the EF but still not "L" quality in regards to anything. But the RF 1.2 is EXPENSIVE!

The “nifty fifty” is a great addition to the RF collection. If I had to choose I would definitely switch between the 35 and 85 vs adding the 50 into the mix, but the image is great and is especially nice to have when taking portrait photos

I have used it for countless portrait sessions as well as video shoots, even in low light situations, it hasn’t let me down! Auto-focus catches flawlessly with my R6 which is an older mirrorless. The detail and edges get a little soft compared to the higher end glass but overall it’s still a great lens for the price!

There’s a reason they call this the nifty fifty! I am incredibly happy given the price point of this product. Provides the most quality bokeh of any lens I’ve got. 10/10 recommend!
