Phone Ok, Camera horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I am not a fan of Android, I didn't really have a problem with the phone or its features, except for the rear camera. It was extremely dark even with plenty of light and the LED on. The picture quality was also very low. The camera was supposed to be 8mp, but looked more like 2 or less. SO... I returned it for a refund and will try something else.

Best Phone under 100 Bucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a replacement after my 2 year old nephew threw my Motorola Moto G4 in the pool. I have cricket and wanted the phone change to be as easy as possible. I looked at the lg Harmony and Zte black max. Then I came across this gem. With 1.4ghz processor and 2gb of ram....you really cant go wrong. I've had it for a week and it has performed flawlessly. If your a simple person who likes to check email, surf the web, use social media apps, and play moderate demanding games...this phone will definitely do it. Also has the latest Android 7 nougat and it actually takes decent pictures. For 50 dollars...it's a steal. Definitely a game changer for low budget phones.

Best Bang for Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.16gb with 2gb RAM and 720 HD Screen for 40.00? Yes, its a no brainer. Its no S8 but its also 650.00 less than an S8. Its still new so unlocking may take a few more months but I got 2 of them and will use them as backups and get them unlocked when they release codes.. Probably make a great phone for ROM development too. cheers

it's just ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this for a week and a half now and I'm not that happy with it. I'd return it but the restock fee is almost as much as the phone itself, so... Here are my issues with it. 1. Icons are too big. So much wasted space on screen. The same number of app icons fit on the screen as my LG Escape 3, but the screen itself is bigger. It looks like it's designed for kids or old people. 2. App list doesn't have swipable screens, it's just a big scrolling list. Makes it slower to access your apps. 3. The back (left arrow) button is on the right. Why? (I know this is actually a fierce debate among people, but the arrow points left for crying out loud. Both ZTE Overture 2 and LG Escape 3, my previous phones, were on the left) 4. A week in, the phone got REALLY slow. Every app was crawling and it would take at least 5 seconds for any button to do something. It seems to have eventually resolved, but it worries me on a new phone. 5. The included USB charger is a bit too big, you have to shove it into the port. And it plugs in upside down. Who designed this thing? 6. The modification of Android doesn't let me just see contacts with phone numbers. I don't need to see every single person I've e-mailed in my contacts list... 7. Reception is noticeably worse. Call volume (both earpiece and speakerphone) is weak. Max volume is similar to the "normal" volume on my LG. 8. When the screen turns on from a notification or text, it quickly turns off again (2 sec?) and you can't tap the screen to keep it on for longer. If you accidentally turn off the screen, you have to re-enter your unlock code immediately. On other phones you get a couple seconds grace period if you turn it back on right away. Annoying. Pros? 1. Camera has panorama mode. It's weird how there are no good apps that do panorama except for ones that come with the phone (and my LG did not). 2. Battery life seems excellent. I'm going 2.5 days between charges with normal usage vs a bit under 2 with my LG. 3. There has to be at least one more pro... but I can't think of one. Man, now I really feel like this was kind of a waste of money. My old LG which this is replacing (I guess) was about the same price and was better, as I've already described. I might just shell out for a new screen on it and keep using it...

Not a keeper
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laaag is soooooo baaaaaaaad. Sometimes the lag is so bad I can't take calls because it goes to voicemail by the time the phone reacts. Forget taking pictures on the whim. You need a one minute head start. After 45 days the speaker went out. The charging stops after 10 minutes so you have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting. Cant move apps from internal to external memory so you run out of memory quick. Full charge takes more than 4 hours.

Could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I were tech savvy. I would have known to NOT get this phone. You cannot save to the SD Card, nor can you retrieve info already stored. If you don't mind this, then the phone is a gem. The volume is very low. It does have a tendency to freeze and my contacts keep disappearing. I would suggest you NOT get this phone if do anything other than talking and texting or if you don't have anyone to help you with the technical stuff. In reality, even though the specs give a different impression, this is pretty much just a phone with a couple of bells and no whistles. In all likelihood, if Best Buy had this on display where I could have physically inspected the features, I would NOT have gotten this "toy phone".

Excellent device plagued by a big privacy issue...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic device at an amazing price, but unfortunately it has one huge flaw. The ear piece is far too loud at the lowest setting. In fact it's unreasonably loud and this could be a privacy issue for people that make calls in public spaces. The earpiece is so loud that it sounds like the speakerphone was turned on because you can audibly hear full conversations several meters away. I'm not certain if this is a software issue or a hardware issue, but I would consider this a major design flaw. If you're at all concerned about others "sharing" in your phone calls, stay away.

These Coolpad Phones Offer Much More Than Expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone 2 days ago as a cheap back-up secondary phone to my primary phone, the Coolpad Catalyst. This new Cricket phone is not a cheapie, but inexpensive in price for all the features it has to offer. I intend to use it as a VoIP phone as I am usually “online all the time” hotspot connected. I just love it! I like the security features if offers like multiple separated passwords (for the Google account) & PIN code (for the lock screen) to protect from prying eyes as I am going to be on online dating sites and don’t necessarily trust the people I might meet there. Plus I am beginning the process of separating from a long time relationship that sadly might need these additional security precautions as well. This is not a cure all, but it does make my major transitional period a bit easier-and safer-for me (a female user).

Excellent phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Nexus 6 that I've been using for a few years now and it started giving me some issues... I didn't want to spend hundreds for a new phone so I was searching... and found this phone from Best Buy for $44.99. I couldn't believe the specs on this for the money! I bought it and I've been using it for a week now and I'm so happy with it that I just sold my Nexus 6 and I'm using this phone as my daily phone. The only drawback I see is the audio is not great on the speaker... like for listening to videos or music - but I don't do that much anyway.

Ok Phone-Beware, This phone has very annoying ads
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a relatively speedy phone at a good price. Also, 4g LTE works, contrary to what another reviewer said. There are several cons though: 1 - You cannot find a case for this phone 2 - Phone has 10gb of storage, not the advertised 16gb 3 - There are very annoying advertisements on this phone. They just pop up when you unlock the phone and are ready to use. This is extremely annoying, and is not advertised anywhere as part of the price you're paying.
