Not worth the money. Go with the smaller one it’s the same quality.

Putting the telescope together was very easy. It only took a couple minutes. The most difficult part was linking the smartphone camera with the telescope, and there are plenty of video tutorials online on how to get it done. We love this telescope as people who just get a kick out of looking at the moon and stars. The lightweight nature of the telescope means it is easy to cart out of a field. It does not give you a bunch of detail on distant planets, but it is very worth what you pay.

The best choice for a newbie on a budget

A wonderful starter scope. An excellent alternative to a computerized telescope. In my experience, the Starsense App has been a little off, however that is because it is hard to keep your phone lined up perfectly in the mirror. The included red-dot finder is not of a very high quality, however it gets the job done. Very easy to set up and use. I have so far seen a total of 3 galaxies (just fuzzy blobs, but they're hard to see for most), 2 nebulae, probably 2 dozen star clusters, great detail on the moon, Jupiter (with cloud bands) and its moons, Saturn, Venus (too bright to see detail), and more recently the tiny blue blob called Uranus.

Purchased this item for a family Christmas. The mirror on the back end of the tube is WAY out of place, which means it is impossible to align with the finder scope. Wasted money. Kids unhappy. Hope to get a refund.

The instructions and unlock code for the StarSense app were missing from the packaging - however, I was able to obtain these from Celestron’s customer service very quickly via email. The setup instructions are not very helpful. I used a YouTube video (not produced by Celestron) to set up the scope for the first time. Otherwise the scope works great. Awesome views of the planets, even with modest light pollution.

I’m so pleased with this telescope. I had tried a different brand/model and the difficulty in aligning the scope made me return it. The StarSense app is a game changer…. Soooo easy to use. It gives you a list of the evening’s viewable stars, galaxies, clusters, etc and makes alignment quick and easy. Click click… view now. All I have to do is make the hot chocolate and enjoy the show. The scope and the tripod are substantial. It does not come with a case so i purchased the Celestron 40” case which perfectly fits the scope and is well padded.

I purchased this for my son in law’s Christmas gift and he absolutely loves it. He put it up the same night and now he and his daughters have another activity for bonding time and expand their curiosity of the stars and outer space.

Got as Christmas gift for mother in law and she said it was her favorite gift. The details it can show on the moon are insane and the app makes it effortless to find different stars and planets. Best value at this price point be far

For the price of the telescope, you're able to get beautiful views of space objects. It's probably one of the best telescopes that you can get for the price!

This telescope claims to be easy to use and says that it magnifies to a degree that I feel it does not. It is not convenient to use and I would not recommend this. I bought it as a gift for my daughter thinking it would be a fun time. We have tried to use it multiple times and it just plain does not focus, we’ve changed out the magnifiers and watched YouTube videos on how to properly work it although nothing has came up that shows how it actually works! I would definitely look into other telescopes first

I bought this at the local Best Buy several weeks ago, tonight was the first night I got to try it out. At first I was having trouble getting it to find its position, but once I figured out I need to turn night mode on to see anything in the phone screen to help with initial alignment (I used Jupiter as it is bright and easy to see on the phone screen). it found its position quickly even in my light polluted city skies and I saw M13, M22, M25 and M39 for the first time tonight!
