Customers regard the Starsense Explorer DX 130AZ Telescope as user-friendly, providing great image quality for the price. Many find it easy to assemble, set up, and move around due to its lightweight design. However, some customers have noted issues with stability at higher magnification, and some find the app functionality to be poor.

Item was in good condition and operated as advertised. The only problems were that the instructions and necessary code needed to operate were not in the box. I had to obtain the needed information by email from the manufacturer. This oversight was the fault of the manufacturer and not Best Buy.

We are still learning how to use this but some of the things we have captured are truly out of this world. It’s been a lot to Learn for some newbies but slowly but surely we are learning. That is the fun part.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my little sister who is pursuing astronomy! She absolutely loved it!!! Takes some time to get the focusing done and you definitely need to follow the directions to have a clear image of what it is you’re looking at! The quality is great as we could visibly see each and every crater on the moon! I highly recommend this as a gift for a great starter telescope!

This is my first telescope and I am very pleased with this purchase. I decided to go with the StarSense 130mm because this model has the slow motion controls which make it much easier to make fine adjustments. Assembly was easy and the tripod is sturdy. Upgrading the eyepieces is something well worth considering. I purchased 9mm and 5mm Celestron X-Cel LX eyepieces which have a 60 degree field of view and 16mm eye relief. The StarSense app works great with my iPhone 8 plus also.

This is a Christmas gift to my daughter who has found interest in star gazing. I grow up with a cheap telescope, myself. Now that I know a bit, I wanted to get her an entry level, easy to use, easy to set up telescope. We’re on the outskirts of town, and was able to adjust the phone/tracking/alignment features with ease. It took a bit of trial and error, but got it. Once set up, we located clusters, nebulas, and a faint galaxy! My kids, and myself were pretty stoked to be able to see these far out objects, and was definitely a blast from the past of my childhood, that I could remember and share with my kids.

My wife and I purchased this for our daughters birthday. When it arrived it was everything that was described and easy to assemble, the whole family has enjoyed using this telescope...you can actually see the rings of Saturn, and the lines on Jupiter when using the more powerful eyepiece included in this set. Overall we were very satisfied with this product.

Got this for our 12 y.o. grandson and was a spot on purchase. Quality scope for the price point. Definitely would recommend this product for entry level to novice star gazers.

My family loves this telescope so far. Bought a travel bag on amazon and took it to Yosemite with us and got to see a couple of shooting stars whiz through our sights. Precision adjustments, east side viewing, and nice app to aide in locating viewable points of interest

I received this as a gift and couldn't be happier as a beginner star gazer. I can see Jupiter's 4 moons clearly, and it's interesting to see the different orientations each night. I have not seen the stripes or the red dot of Jupiter. Saturn is small, but the rings are easily visible. Once I aligned the phone properly, I really enjoy the list of visible items in the app and I can find them easily when guided by the app. The best thing I did was add a zoom lens from Celestron- 8-24X. You can center the object at low power and then increase the zoom to enlarge it.

Great telescope - very powerful and I can see a lot more out there than I thought I could. Easy to build and set-up.
The access card was missing from the package, Celestron support was quick to resolve this and get the app working with my purchase. My Galaxy S21 Ultra phone camera(s) don't always cooperate with the side phone holder, but the app uses GPS or compass and always points to the items in "Tonight's best objects"
I think I need some more eyepieces for additional viewing.
so far - great telescope and easy to setup and use.

Bought this for my son who is a recently graduated astrophysicist with a keen interest in astro photography. This is an OK starter level unit - anything less would probably have not held his interest. And I wasn't willing to spend more than this.
Didn't really take him long to assemble and figure out how to use this.

Just bought this a few days ago. I am very impressed overall. Our first night we saw the moon very well, but I forgot my phone so we couldn’t use the StarSense app to help us find other things. Tonight we used the app and pretty easily found some of the outer planets. I was thrilled that we could see the rings of Saturn with some detail. We could also see the cloud band lines of Jupiter and a few of its moons shining in the viewfinder as well. To see the outer planets you will want to make use of the Barlow lens which is included with the lens set. Also, the app is handy at helping you locate objects in the sky. My iPhone 8-plus fit just fine in the phone holster. So glad I purchased this.

Easy to assemble and solid - very helpful to have the app. I would highly recommend. Other older telescopes don't have app. You'll see excellent ratings uniformly (even outside of Best Buy). Good telescope for me and my son.

Excellent first telescope. My fiance uses this to watch the stars and the moon. He could even see Saturn!
