    I have already hamberlin but nothing like that ,specifically when kids come home need to know who is home who is not and also security that who is there.no night vision

    This thing has been nothing but a headache. (1) The antenna has very short range. My garage door opener is less than 6 feet away and it cannot receive the signal unless I am 5 or less. I tried extender my antenna manually and that still did not resolve the issue. Customer support was not helpful. (2) The battery is awfully hard to remove. It lasts maybe 10-14 days, which is fine, but when it is difficult to remove it makes it a painful chore to replace. In addition, it takes 4-6+ hours to charge. (3) You need a subscription to use most of the features.

      Hello, we are sorry to hear you are experiencing such issues with the myQ Video Keypad. In regards to the range issue ensure there are no LED light bulbs installed inside the garage door opener. If there are two openers installed in your garage and only one opener is having an issue, the problem could be the working opener. This is known as crosstalk. To resolve the issue:
      Unplug the opener which is NOT having a range issue.
      Test the remote control, did the range on the remote control improve?
      Yes, replace the logic board on the opener that you unplugged
      No, proceed to resolve issues with the wires to the door control panel

      When it comes to the battery life of the myQ Video Keypad. Expected battery life depends on several factors including household activity, Wi-Fi signal strength, ambient temperature, and selected motion sensitivity settings. An example based on activity can be found below:
      Quiet Household (fewer than 10 events per day): 3 months of battery life
      Typical Household (10-30 events per day): 2 months of battery life
      Busy Household (over 30 events per day): 1 month of battery life

      The myQ Video keypad works independently of a subscription. Once you install your video keypad you will be able to operate your pre-programed garage door and view real time live video motion events. The myQ Video storage plans allow you to personalize alerts, record and view motion events and access them at your convenience thru the myQ application.

    The hardware is great, but MyQ has locked this down so it only works with their app, so won't pull up in any of my smart home apps. Horrible company. Will never buy from again.

    At the current time I'm not happy, after fully charging the battery as instructed it didn't last a week and it doesn't stay connected to the internet as needed to operate

      I would love to recommend some adjustments you can try on your settings to prolong the battery on your video keypad. Go ahead and set your Motion Sensitivity Meter to either the low, or lowest setting. This will ensure your keypad is only capturing events immediate to your garage door proximity.
      Wi-Fi signal strength also plays a significant factor in the battery life performance of your device. You can view your Wi-Fi network strength in the myQ app under the Video Keypad Device Management Settings section.     Needed to be a le to use multiple codes and this was the solution! It also adds extra security with the camera so we can see who it is.

    It works well, but the battery needs charging way too often even though we rarely use it. To charge the battery you have to remove a screw and remove the keypad from its mount. The screw obviously doesn’t prevent it from being stolen so I’m not sure why it’s there. Especially considering how often it has to be charged it would be much better if it snapped into place or the charging port was accessible while it was still mounted.

    Motion Notification Now Requires Subscription Plan

    When I first bought it, it was motion notifications did not require a subscription plan (again, motion notification, not saving videos). Recently (October 1), I quit receiving motion notifications, and finally got to reaching out to Chamberlain Support. I was then informed by "Anuel" that that feature is now behind a paywall and requires a subscription.

    Tried 2 different units and even brought one of the google nest routers into the garage for better connectivity… it would work a couple times and then stop. I’ve returned both units now… will just use the mobile app

    A majority of the features listed on the box are not available unless you pay their subscription which is around $7 a month. I should have the option to store the videos on my phone locally rather than on their cloud service or on my own cloud for a matter of fact. Blocking a majority of the features unless you pay their subscription fee for a product that cost $100 is predatory and downright a scam.
