Not too noisy; shuts off when it comes to a boil. BUT it stopped working after seven months, when it was never used more than twice a day. It's not an expensive kettle, but it does seem like it should last at least the year that it's warranted. Got it for $19.99 on sale, so not worth the expense to ship it to the manufacturer to replace. Would have been a great kettle if it had kept on working.

There is no water level gauge on the outside but I guess that would mean adding some plastic to the inner materials and most people don't want that.

After couple time of using the kettle, the lid become loose. I guess that's normal for all the kettle?
