I never had one before, my sister-in-law had one when we went for a visit and swore by it. This one looked like hers so I bought it. Works best for frozen pre-battered or ready-to-fry items. Do not try to batter your own lol. That makes a big mess! I haven't tried the recipes yet. Easy to clean, non-stick basket and inside of tray. Takes longer to cook than I expected, but good results so far. One thing, the basket comes out of the tray really easily, so be careful. I dropped the tray on the floor a couple of times before I got the hang of it.
