I bought it for two reasons, custom doorbell chimes, and to extent the reach of my wifi to an external ring spotlight cam. First, I suppose you ARE able to choose your chime, but you only have a about 10 options. How is it that you dont have 25+ choices or even the ability download your own? Second, the extender, at least in my house, did not improve the signal at all to that particular camera. Its actually a bit worse for some reason. I plan on calling Ring about that to see why. It may work for you, but it didnt for me.

It doesn’t. I moved my router much closer and then installed this device midway between the router and my Ring camera. That put this device about 20 feet from the camera but as far as I can tell, it made almost no difference at all. In my opinion, the dual antennas on this device are much too short, so they neither receive nor relay the wireless signal efficiently. I wish I hadn’t wasted the money.

The pictures got a tiny bit better but my Internet downstairs now sucks. I also keep losing the Internet and I never had problems before I got the extendere. I did try to call ring and ask about it but the guy I talked to just kept insisting it was my Internet and that their extender. We movedthe extender to a new location which helps a bit but I still have a lot more problems with my Internet than I ever did before
