Had to get a second one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one set up quick in 5 minutes. After one day it stopped. I called ring and spent 1-2 hours on the phone. It would not show the chimepro Wifi. They said get a new one. I buy a new one and this one took 5 minutes then it was not connecting. After hours of reconnecting and retrying it, the chime pro extender worked. After 2 weeks of use, I do need to reconnect it to the ring every time I have to charge the ring. It’s not always convenient but I like the feature on the extender showing me the connection is dropped when there is a red circle. Tp-link extender never gives me a warning on my phone. I have to walk to the room to look at the red light and know it’s not connected. I think ring works only with chimepro but not as well with tp-link.

I am so sorry to hear about this poor and inconvenient Ring experience. This is by no means the Ring experience that we intended for you to have. I do, however, greatly appreciate all the time and energy that you have invested into trying to get your Ring device to work for you and I would like to step in and ensure that your efforts are not wasted.

Chime works fine, but it doesn't expand the wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put this in the middle of the 1st floor per ring customer service, it didn't really boost the signal. Even though i followed the directions on the phone. Lucky, i purchased a power line adapter at the same time. Signal went from RSSI-62 to RSSI-39.

Doesnt make anything better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How does this make my other ring products worse? I dont get it. I have AT&T fiber and had a good connection to my doorbell and spotlight cam (which hardly ever works). I thought I could make the connection even better by adding the chime pro. Boy was I wrong. Both connections went to poor and the chime is literally 10 feet from the doorbell and another 10 feet from the spotlight cam. Had to put it in the same room as my router because if I moved it anywhere else it wouldnt detect my wifi network. Ring has some serious issues and they need to be addressed. I will more than likely be returning this and the spotlight cam.

Posted .Hi Damian,
I am sorry to hear about this poor Ring experience. Both your upload and download speeds look good. We also recommend that your Ring Video Doorbell 2 is no further than 30 feet from your router, but, the closer it is the better the performance. Would you please email me at [email protected]? I would appreciate the chance to investigate this further so that I can provide you with the best possible resolution.
I look forward to assisting you.

Terrible signal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought maybe my Ring products would work better if connected to their Ring Chime Pro instead of my wifi extender. Wrong! My spotlight cam went from a signal 73 on the Pro back to a good signal of 56 on my wifi extender. My stick up cam went from the Pro's signal of 50 back down to my wifi extender of 27. I'd say the Pro has some pretty significant poor signals. Back to the store it goes.

Would NOT Connect To Wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through 2 of these devices trying to get them connected to my wifi. I wanted this to extend my wifi to my outdoor floodlight. I spend a total of 4 hours on the phone with support while they walked me through everything step by step. The device would never join my wifi. I even made the wifi unencrypted and it did not connect. The Doorbell and floodlight are great products, but the chime pro is definitely garbage. Support tried to tell me that I picked up 2 "bad" devices. If you are looking to use this to extend your network, i would suggest purchasing an actual wifi extender rather than this product.

WiFi on this device is terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first set this up it was irritating because the range was terrible, but I just wanted to have a decent doorbell sound inside the house. I finally got it to work, but it was awful for extending the range to my floodlight in the backyard. I did get it to work for a couple months but video recording in the back was terrible and the doorbell, well, just okay. Now it stopped working altogether so I tried both networks and it will not even join. What a waste of money. Do not buy this product!

Couldn't Get it to Work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really wanted to be able to give this product 5 stars, but unfortunately we could not get it to work. Hired professional electrician to install it and he even contacted Ring Tech Support, but together they could never get it to work as intended. And because it took several attempts and given the electricians schedule, we were beyond the 15 day BestBuy return period. So now we're stuck with a $250 paperweight.
