So the ring chime isn’t necessarily needed. In my application the voltage was high enough to allow to existing chime to work. Plus if you have a smart device like an echo dot, etc it will act as a chime. But I needed an WiFi extender to help with signal strength to the door. And it work perfectly.

This add-on device works great in an area where your Wi-Fi may be coming up short for consistent connectivity. It was a challenge to connect and get going from the start but has worked well since.

Good quality sound great price made a great choice

Purchased this due to many dead spots in my home. And had to piggy back this to my wifi repeater to give it a constant signal to the ring doorbell camera. I still need to purchase another repeater to have stability. But this product is a must if your home has many dead spots.

This device has yet to be added to my home, as I have a echo in almost every room upstairs within ear shot... and notifications come over those. Though I might put it in my shed in the back yard once I put my shop out there

Plug & Play. One thing I didn’t realize was you need to configure to its own network not your home network. Wireless kept going out as it was configured to the home wireless network not a separate Ring Chime Pro network you have to set up. Should have been called out in the set up.

Very great addition to the ring doorbell, just glitchy WiFi issues from time to time. Just like the smart locks. WiFi glitches stop me short of giving this item a Five Star Rating.

Great wifi extender for my Ring Doorbell and spotlight.

This is a must have but it should be included as without it the doorbell will never be right. Hate paying for tons of add ons when the problem is well known and many share it, just make it right from the beginning and stop nickle and diming us.

This more of an issue with the main Ring unit that it cannot reach 25' to my modem without this in between. Even with this extender, my signal is poor.

This product changed my "59-63" "Good" rating in the Ring app to a 73-79 "Poor" rating and made the signal worse than without the adapter. I used an older Netgear router instead and it boosted my signal to 43 which is still "Good" but much better than without using an intermediate device. I have a a Netgear Nighthawk 8x R8500 and my ring would not always show the video but just a black screen. I would always get the motion detect within seconds so connectivity was live. Based on support threads the ring device has issues with MTU which with many of the Netgear routers releases in the last few years which explains why the notification (small packet) works while video fails. As a test I did a ping -f -l 1400 to the device and was experiencing extreme packetloss. Having packetloss on a local network is a very bad sign. I tried using the Chome Pro but it made the signal weaker and I still experiencing the same issue. I suspect the defect exists in the Chime Pro also. I re-provisioned an older Netgear R6250 as a wireless access point at the same physical location as my current router. When connecting to this router I no longer experience the connection issues I was seeing before. I then moved this to the spot I was trying to use the Chrome Pro and it significantly helped the connection to the Ring Pro. So in the end the Chime Pro weakened my signal by 10-15 points and using my own router I increased the connection strength by 20 points. The Chime PRO also appears to have the same issue with newer Netgear routers as the Ring Pro.

very easy to install, very clear setup instructions

This is nice to have along side the ring doorbell, it has many different chimes that you can choose from when someone rings your doorbell and you can have it notify you when motion is detected on any of your ring cameras, whichever ones you choose.

Great extender for your RING products. My router is in the Basement and it extended my signal to the garage Spotlight Cam. I did a health check and finally got it in the green (good signal). I also like that I can control through the app if it chimes or not. Awesome extender....Thanks RING !!!
