Glad Chuck got this CD Done!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.CHUCK – Chuck Berry. Chuck is in great voice and sounds like he had fun making this CD. His guitar work is his atypical trademark sound, solid riffs and really good new songs. Eight of the ten are his compositions and two are covers. One, the track “3/4 Time (Enchiladas)” is recorded live with an audience. Among the musicians featured here are Charles Berry, Jr. (Guitar), Ingrid Berry (Vocals & Harmonica), and Chuck Berry III (Guitar on 2 tracks). Also featured on “Big Boys” is Tom Morello’s guitar work. This is a fun collection, has a very complete lyrics, photos, and liner notes booklet and includes a link where you can get 25% off of any Chuck Berry merchandise. Glad he was able to record this album and glad I got to see him perform live as well!

Chuck is Back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. His last studio album was released way back in 1979 and thirty eighty years later, the 90 year old Chuck Berry decided it was time to make it back to the studio. "Chuck" was released shortly after Berry's death and what a great album it is. Berry plays the guitar with same verve and energy as back in his prime time and sings with the same enthusiastic blues power as always. The album is filled with the great old time rock and roll we've come to expect from the legend Chuck Berry.

Chuck Berry - rock ’n roll hero to the end
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Those familiar with Chuck Berry’s music will recognize his melodic and rhythmic sense, but the new songs are distinctively different, each unique. They are also a love song in sum to his wife of 61 years. Pay special attention to the old standard, “ You Go to My Head,’ turned into slow soul music without losing the gist of the original. Sadly, Chuck passed on shortly after this album, but what a tribute!

Chuck Still Delivers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So great to hear Chuck still deliver that classic rock and roll sound he invented. I was lucky to catch a track on a college station and rest of the CD did not disappoint. Now that he's gone this only makes me sadder that we won't get any more Chuck Berry music. But a great farewell by a legend.

The Final Words of Johnny B Goode
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The review title says it all. If you have ever listened to and loved Chuck Berry, this CD is a must have. You can hear that he was summing up everything that was important to him with this CD. He was doing what he loved to do, sing and play his guitar. In a world full of over hyped overproduced "Music" this cd is a real throwback to a much simpler time.

A visit to the past with Berry songs not on CDs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoyed hearing Berry's music once again. Some of these tracks were reminiscent of his big hits from 20 or 30 years ago and 4-5 songs were similar to his big hits. I have listened to the new CD 4-5 times and got out an old "best of" double CD by him with over 40 of his best songs. He re-recorded old song "Havana Moon" and re-titled it "Jamaica Moon".

Chuck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with many others, Chuck Berry is one of the reasons I picked up a guitar. His influence in rock 'n' roll and pop culture can never be overstated. That said, I wasn't crazy about the entire album. I love Chuck Berry, and it pains me to say anything negative (I'm sure others will disagree- that's cool). "Chuck" definitely has some high points (check out the infectious Big Boys!). Unfortunately for me (in my humble opinion), there weren't enough to carry a full album's worth of material. I would still recommend this album to fans or anyone familiar with his music (how could anyone not be?). For the few newbies and unindoctrinated, I would first recommend a greatest hits collection, and learn how this legend had made such a lasting impact in American music/culture..

Strong conclusion to pioneering recording career
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chuck Berry was one of the pioneering innovators of Rock and Roll. This album was in the final production stages when Mr. Berry passed away. Mr. Berry's son, Chuck Berry, and grandson, Chuck Berry, also play on this album. The album contains many catchy, toe-tapping tunes and is a fitting coda to Mr. Berry's recording career.

A modest career conclusion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chuck Berry's "CHUCK" is a darn fine leisurely, enjoyable album, and while it doesn't have much of the drive of his biggest hits, there is plenty of great guitar chops and lyricism. A fitting capper to a remarkable career.

Chuck Berry Goes Out With A Hit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Typical Chuck Berry More Of A Time Capsule of his life as the Godfather and Creator of Rock And Roll. He did not miss a lick, a riff, a chord and his unique way of telling a story. Rock and Roll at his best, even at the age of 90. Hail Hail Rock & Roll and Rest In Peace, Mr Berry.

Return to form
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chuck Berry's final effort is a fine return to his roots as a rock-and-roll guitarist and single. On this album, Berry sounds like originator he was of good, old-fashioned rock and rhythm and blues.

Blown away!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am amazed at how great Chuck Berry sounds on this new album! You would never guess this was a 90 year old man singing and tearing up the guitar. Such a great send off for a legend. Long live Rock N' Roll, and the music of Chuck Berry!!!

Icon Chuck Berry's last album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CD "Chuck" is classic rock and roll icon Chuck Berry's last one before he just recently passed away. It contains some of his best work in recent years and should be part of every classic rock and roll fan's library.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chuck sounded pretty good on his last outing and still knew how to rock it.
