Customers recognize the keyboard's great build quality and satisfying tactile feedback. However, many users have reported connectivity issues and problems with the keyboard settings not functioning as expected. Some customers also noted concerns regarding button size and compatibility issues with the device. Overall, while the physical construction is appreciated, the keyboard's functionality and integration seem to be areas of concern.

One of the reasons I bought the Razr early was to get this for free, and as a free accessory I really like it. If I had to buy it though, the $139 would be too steep. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad I have it and I love using it so I get more mileage out of the external display.
One thing that is annoying is every so often (a few times a day) the keyboard stops working, and won't start again until I open the Clicks app. I've tried changing the app settings, to keep it from going into a sleep state, making it an exception from the auto-battery life optimizer, but despite that it still happens. It's not a huge deal opening the app periodically, but still annoying. It'll probably be fixed with a firmware update at some point I would expect.
Anyways, keys are clicky, shortcuts make sense, and the case itself feels sturdy and protective for the phone. I like it. I think it's probably worth like $80 max if I hadn't had gotten it for free with the Best Buy promotion.

Sturdy but Heavy—Minimal Drop Protection

Adds noticeable weight to your phone. If you have small hands, it may feel awkward to hold. The added length throws off balance, making drops more likely. It often tips forward, causing arm fatigue over time. It’s got a solid rubbery feel and looks fine, but it’s heavier than expected. The edges don’t curve over the phone—they’re flat and level with the screen. If you drop it, there’s a good chance your phone’s getting cracked.. Deducting two stars due to the added weight and lack of edge protection. A drop could easily damage your phone.

I absolutely loved this case when i got it when my razr but typing stopped working. Possible charging pass through issue. Clearing the cases port by blowing on it helped in the beginning but now keys randomly stop registering and the frustrations are not work trying to fix it anymore. I reached out to clicks to report the issues and they're ready to send me a free replacement but since i got this through best buy, im stuck trying to explain to chat and phone reps that i want to try to rma the thing and get a replacement so it can get looked at, but no one understands me. I'm looking at just returning. Clicks is ready after replacement fails to give me a new one though. They seem like a great company and i hope mine is just a dud

I love this keyboard/phone combo. My goal with switching to this setup is to reduce my screen time. So far, it's working. I don't have to open my phone to do the necessary things like answer a call or send a text, and this keyboard really makes the exterior screen perfectly functional. I will say that the keyboard setting (in the clicks app - included instruction book can show you where) doesn't actually work. Not with this phone anyway. I have to keep it in Data mode for the keyboard to function properly. It switches to keyboard mode automatically when it's charging, but it's an easy thing to switch back. I leave the clicks app running for this reason. Minus that glitch, this really is a perfect product. And a firmware update can easily resolve that issue in the future. It'll be 5 stars when they fix that little hiccup.

I was really worried I’d regret buying this case after seeing all the negative reviews—but I’m so glad I trusted my gut. I’m loving it so far! The physical keyboard definitely takes some getting used to, especially if you have long acrylic nails like I do, but overall it’s a super cool accessory that makes the phone feel like a sleek, modern BlackBerry-Razr hybrid.
Tip for anyone experiencing connection issues with the Razr Ultra: Make sure the Clicks app stays open at all times, or the keyboard may randomly disconnect. There’s also a setting that lets the keyboard run in the background—it's part of a battery optimization feature. You can find how-to videos on TikTok and YouTube that walk you through enabling it. I think the only thing I wish is that the buttons were slightly bigger and that the case came in different colors.

TL;DR- This is a product that is best supported by tech geeks. Get it if you are willing to put in the time and effort to learn the keyboard and its quirks. Don't get it if you are expecting it to just work, immediately change your life for the better, or be just like your old BlackBerry you daydream about.
-Actual review and thoughts-
All in all I have really enjoyed my experience with this keyboard case. So much so that I, most likely, will never go back to using my Razr without it. I don't believe this keyboard is a must for everyone, but here is why it is a must for me.
Things I love:
-The keyboard is tactile. Typing on it is satisfying and the click under my thumbs is really nice. It adds a sense of certainty when typing.
-The backlight is great, especially for nighttime use. Being able to adjust the brightness and timeout function is a must, and they've made that possible to do in the Clicks app.
-The case as a whole is neither bulky or flimsy. It offers decent protection, better grip, and doesn't make my phone too big to pocket when closed.
-Fast charging through passthrough works great.
-The added functionality to the external display is simply great. Having less of the screen taken up by a virtual keyboard makes it even more enjoyable for me to use.
Things I think everyone should be aware of:
-It's going to take some time to get accustomed to the Clicks keyboard. For some, this will come more naturally than others. For many, it will require determination and patience.
-It is ALMOST plug and play. I have had to configure some things with Android OS settings to get it to operate how I like. You don't need to be tech savvy, but download the Clicks app and watch the tutorials before going in blind.
-Unfolded, the phone is very tall.
Improvements that I would like to see:
-Clicks should consider including a screen protector for the external display.
-Granting users native button remapping in the Clicks app would be a game changer.

this is something that only a specific person would like, enjoy, and get the most use out of. I am a techy person, obviously you are as well if you are wanting this, but at the price point you are wondering if its worth it. First of all if you are concerned with built quality, feel and anything like that, you shouldn't. the people who make this made sure that it felt premium from every point. i would say the only fault is that when the device is open, it makes the phone so tall, but again, this is more meant for the cover display than the inner, but the keyboard still works for both quite well.
but for the most part, I typed slower on the keyboard and felt limited on what i could do. BUT, the shortcuts on it are surprisingly well put and made the device feel like something new and vintage at the same time, like a device from the 2010's but kept being updated.
i used a moto razr 2024 non ultra, and if you have the ultra/the one with the bigger screen, itll be even better.
i didn't notice any battery drain from this, and the magsafe on the back is very useful.
again, if you plan on using this as your new device and want to go all in for something different and new and dont mind the challenges of learning a new typing interface, as it will take time (it will take longer than you think), this will be perfect for you if you can also afford it.

Pixel Clicks ✅ Samsung✅ iPhone✅ Razr❌❌❌

What an absolute missed opportunity. Clicks for Pixel, Samsung, and iPhone work perfectly. However, Motorola's software seems to love closing out background processes such as a functioning physical keyboard. I've gone through two of these and they are absolutely broken. No matter what I do (manage background apps, battery restrictions, locking the Clicks app in my multitasking) this thing will not stay connected. I love Michael Fisher's reviews and I appreciate his excitement at the prospect of utilizing this folding design to emulate the good old days. But THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE SHIPPED. If anything they should have waited until they could make this for the Z Flip. And that's coming from a Razr fan. I hate to say it, but this thing sucks. And I'm disappointed in Michael Fisher and company for selling this $140 product that does not function as advertised.

Having constant issues when using with the RAZR Ultra 2025. Inputs stop working but keys remain lit and light up when pressed, Clicks stops working after using passthrough charging, putting Clicks into data mode for use with Android Auto causes SYNC in my Lincoln to throw system faults. Reached out to support to work with them to get this ironed out over a week ago. Zero response other than telling me to expect a reply within 3 days. I have had to rely on random sources spread across the internet to try and get this working. I have already done the standard "allow unrestricted battery use in background" (Moto software has two levels of background battery restriction) and still have issues here and there. Aside from all that, when it does work, it feels excellent to type on and I have been able to nearly surpass my typing speed on a digital board (with more use I can guarantee I'll be even quicker). I have been rocking just the lower half of Clicks but throw on the top frame when heading out on trips. Love that I have access to simple text editing shortcuts and am patiently awaiting a firmware update (or basic comms from Clicks) to address issues because it definitely has huge potential. At this time I cannot recommend to the non-tech-enthusiast. Out of the box it did not work as intended.

Really wanted to love this, and the keyboard felt awesome but the key presses only registered about 20% of the time. The rest of the time it was like the keyboard was inactive and i could never figure out why. Randomly it would work for a few minutes. Also, when plugging in a usb cable in my car, the phone crashed every time. Didnt happen when I removed the case and went direct to phone.

Ultimate Way to use the External Display

Normally this keyboard wouldn't have any weird quirks for it to work perfectly. Right before the new Razrs released motorola sent them out with an updated version of android and It created a compatibility issue. The keyboard works pretty well most of the time with only a couple quirks if you are willing to apply a couple temporary fixes until the update comes with android 16. Aside from that this has the absolute best top half of a case out of literally every other case made for the razr including Motorola's own cases, that's because of the beveled edges that allow you to swipe easily on all the sides of the curved external display, no other cases accommodate this. You also get so much more screen space on the phone when using the keyboard that opening it doesn't even seem necessary. Some quick tips to get you going if you buy it, turn off "bounce keys" in your razr's settings, keep the app always open in the background with it locked so it cant be closed out of, normally you wouldn't have to do that second thing but until the update comes along its a helpful thing to do. Also the YouTube channel "Tech out" has some other useful tips for keeping it working smoothly until the update comes out. Lastly, I typed this entire review on my clicks keyboard so that's fun!

It worked for about as long as it took to go through the tutorial then keys started not responding, capitalization was randomly changing, and it stopped working altogether on the external screen. I reset the keyboard using the shortcut I found online, but that only fixed it for a few minutes.

Nice try, Android works, but the iPhone version set the bar not quite as convenient without jumping through some hoops and still still buggy. Hopefully the team will work with Motorola or maybe just Android and get these issues corrected

It was free, received when purchasing phone. Harder to use than built in key board, buttons are very small, no back lite, very dark. Reminds me of the days of texting with a numbers on phone, have to skip through to display numbers etc. Very old tech.

Great typing experience! I'm already able to do it without looking. I had a BB Key2 years ago and it's wild how quickly the muscle memory came back. There are some quirks due to how Android handles all physical keyboards, like double-pressing space doesn't insert a period, but there's a dedicated period key. Alt+d activate the voice dictation feature, which is nice, but I do wish I could have it matched to a single key. I'm reluctant to use a custom key mapper app because I don't want my data being stolen... would love to have a native support for this within Android, or at least within the clicks app. I haven't had any issues with connectivity or bugs. Seems to work very consistently. Build quality is great, clicking is very satisfying, feels very sturdy, and the ultra is the perfect form factor for this.

Using it to type this review. The buttons feel great with a quiet, but satisfying click. It hardly weighs anything, so it doesnt really add too the phone's weight. The material is comfortable to hold and feels very nice. The backlight is nice, ev enly lit, and not too bright in the dark. Once you lock the app, set it to always run in the backround without optimization, and get used to the shortcuts, it's incredible. I really don't feel much need to open my Razr with this case on except for web browsing.

This case could've been good but the experience does not feel fully fleshed out from a design standpoint.
It feels like the case is battling motorola's UI instead of working seemlesly with it. You can't interact with the lock screen with the keyboard, you can,t scroll in some apps, you can't open apps by typing in their name etc.
There's more cants than there is cans which puts into question the utility of this keyboard.

Pros:
- Typing is accurate and satisfying
- razr's external display is SO USEFUL without the virtual keyboard
- The keyboard feels sturdy and comfortable to hold, both folded and unfolded
- Adjustable backlight
- Passthrough charging works great
Cons:
- Frequent disconnects. Can be improved by exempting the Clicks app from battery saving, but still not perfect
- Wireless charging DOES NOT work with the case
- Top half of the case is constantly sliding off when I take it out of my pocket
Overall, while I love my Clicks case, it's not for everyone. Some of these things may be improved with updates to the Clicks firmware or the Motorola software, but at this time it's not quite plug-and-play. It has huge potential for folks who are willing to overlook the cons, and none of those cons is a dealbreaker for me.
