We bought this dash cam in March of this year. Paid for installation and at first we thought it was a great dash cam. Then in May, it started beeping saying "please re-insert micro sd card". We did that and it still did not work. So went and bought a brand new sd card thinking that might solve it. It did not. I called customer care at Cobra and the representative said it was internal. Paid $25 to ship it to them and we received a new one. About another month goes by and we have the same problem, "please reinsert micro sd card". I called customer care again and they sent me to the managers voicemail. He finally called me back and said they will pay for shipping. I made it clear that this is the 2nd dash cam we have had from them and if the 3rd one has the same issues we would like at least a refund of the purchase price of the product, not asking for installation at all. I sent it in July and it is now August 16. I called them to see what is taking so long, it is back ordered for another 2 weeks. So we have had no use of this dash cam for the past month and a half....and the representative told me that if I want a refund for the 3rd dash cam if it doesn't work also, I would have to go to Best Buy and if Best Buy refuses then I would have to talk to her manager. So, this is what you have to deal with when you drop $300 for installation and a dash cam that seems to keep having internal problems. Please do not buy any cobra dash cam, you might get the run around and headache like us.

Have had mine for over a year with no problems. Setup is simple and quick. I have the rear camera mounted outside the vehicle due to having a soft top on my Wrangler and it has withstood freezing cold, snow and rain. Couldnt be happier with this product.

I have had this dash cam front and rear camera for more than a year. It works perfectly. Video quality excellent. Sound excellent even with radio playing in the background. I had it professionally installed. Worth the money spent

It is nice to have both directions covered in case of an accident however the accident bump feature is really sensitive and records when you hit a bump. overall a good way to protect yoursrelf or save memories.

First off, I will be returning this as soon as possible. I didn't read the reviews but I really should have this time around. There are a few issues; 1. The mount is way too long and for such a small device, it's really hard to get a position on the window that doesn't either block your view or hit the mirror. Also, this mount is very hard to get secure, every time you touch a button, the device spins on the mount. 2. On of the main reasons I bought this one was to have the dual camera but the way the second camera connects means you have to find a way to jam a huge connector into your headliner. 3. The USB charge port is on the SIDE of the device instead of the top, so no matter how well you hide the wire, the USB connection will be sticking out the side. A simple right angle connector on the cable would have made a world of difference or design the circuit board with the power connection at the top. 4. Although not a reason to return, the lane departure feature is laughable at best. I know it's not a sophisticated system like what would be in a high end car but this one is so bad it would have been better to not even include it. 5. Lastly, the main reason I need to return this device is that the unit has several times been running and then stop with an error message saying that I needed to re-insert the SD card. This doesn't actually solve the problem so a re-format is the only way to continue. I tried using another card I had already and I had the same problem. For a device costing $200, this thing is terrible, I've had better from cheap auction site units.

Spent $200 for this piece of junk!! It interfered with my radio reception, then after having it installed for just one day, it shut off while I was driving and wouldn't turn back on. I returned it to best buy and went with a Thinkware x500...couldn't be more satisfied.

DOES NOT hold a charge and DOES NOT record. This is a dash ornament at best.

worked ok for 4 years other than over sensitive emergency beep and recording then the power cord starts flaking and sometimes the cam locks up, claiming its shutting down for 2 hrs and often cam 2 is disconnected/ bouncing on and off

tried charging dash cam fully over night no luck..

My wife got in an accident. This says it has a shock sensor to protect the video before and after the accident. But it doesn’t work. When she got home we immediately checked the video and it was gone. Good video of her coming home though. Thanks Cobra. Waste of $170.

Out of the box this did not work. Camera 1 did not work; a green screen the entire time and the software kept freezing! Cobra is a good quality name... at least it was. I'm sure this product was outsourced through some garbage tech company. Waste of money. I wanted a Garmin but they had no lineup of recordable Front and Read Cams... DO NOT BUY

Worked for 7 days than went blank screen. Would not turn on. LED stayed on. Read others you will see this is a common problem.

I purchased this camera as an Uber driver. This camera has been a complete waste of money. Do not buy this product. Anyone who gives them 5 stars has only had the camera for a week. It turns on and off on its own, it does not record consistently and does not go into loop once it's full. Poor quality camera with lots of bugs

Like everyone else, both of them that we bought, keep saying re-insert sim card, we have, we have also purchased new sim cards, but they keep doing the same thing, and no one at Cobra cares. DO NOT buy these, because we wasted 400.00 on the two units. Cobra = garbage

Stopped working on day 30 and Best Buy won't take it back! I just cancelled my (apparently non-elite) membership and will never buy Cobra again, nor will I even shop at Best Buy again. Well done!

Was happy to see a dual camera unit. The ad specs are wrong as the current player will not in fact play both cameras back at the same time. I also had issues where the screen flaked out and the unit became unresponsive.

Only had my dash cam 6 months and the power cord slot has come loose and fell into the camera, making it unusable. at t his price it ought to last a lot longer. I drive mostly by myself so it was not abused

I bought 2 as I have 2 cars. One camera failed after 5 months and the other at 7 months. Didn’t even show footage of a car hitting me and taking off.

I paid $179.00 for this junk dash cam. Video sucks.
