You get the drive smart app which will pair the radar to your phone via Bluetooth . This is great because as you are driving with your Bluetooth on it’ll turn the music down and let you know the radar detected activity .

The only complaint I have is when connected to CarPlay it silences the radar. I just don’t use CarPlay, problem solved.

Recently on a trip from Houston To Indiana, all i got was noise and false alerts , Waze maps was better at alerting me to possible police presense. I have used top of the line Radar detectors and this one is a totay waste.

It's going to give plenty of false alarms but that's to be expected at this price point. Better to have a heads up than nothing at all imo anyways.

I'd have to say since this doesn't recognize the newest radar tech out there you may not have much future use in the years to come. From what I've seen this is a decent model and for all currently used radars in most of the country (USA) you will have a decent go with this. Once they roll out the new radar tech beyond DC, LA, NYC, and so forth this will lose it's usage though.
